Sony A7C Mirrorless Camera with 28-60mm Lens - Black ILCE7CLB review

Placing full-frame tech inside an APS-C-sized body shows off exactly what Sony is capable of. In terms of image quality and performance, the A7C matches the A7 III, but in terms of usability, it’s a bit of a damp squib.

Small and light; Kit package well-priced; Fully articulating screen

Handling could be better; Low-resolution viewfinder; Kit lens not the best performer; Single card slot

Sony A7C Mirrorless Camera with 28-60mm Lens - Black ILCE7CLB review

Sony has leveraged the popularity of its A7 series, creating a full-frame camera that seems impossibly small in the A7C. There are lots of positives here in terms of build quality and performance, but it's lacking a little in areas like bitrate and frame rates when compared to the top tier cameras.

Really compact size; Fully articulating screen; Fast autofocus and smart tracking features; Great build quality; Versatile video modes

Only one SD card slot; No 4K60p; Menu button is in a really awkward place

Sony A7C Mirrorless Camera with 28-60mm Lens - Black ILCE7CLB review

There is a wide range of full-frame mirrorless cameras to choose from, from Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, Sigma, and from Sony as well. We're just not sure the Sony Alpha A7C is one we'd choose. However, the vari-angle screen may be of benefit for vloggers, and those interested in video use.

Compact full-frame camera and lens combo; Very good image quality possible with the right lens; Good noise performance; Vari-angle touch-screen; Rapid focus system; In-Body Image Stabilisation; Good battery life

Doesn't feature the new Sony menu system; Touch-screen has limited functionality; Not convinced by the 28-60mm lens; Handling compromises due to size; No in-camera raw processing; Small; uncomfortable EVF

Sony A7C Mirrorless Camera with 28-60mm Lens - Black ILCE7CLB review

When I first heard about Sony’s new A7C, I thought it was just a parts-bin camera — taking a lot of good things about the Alpha line and putting it into a new design. On paper, that’s exactly what the $1,800 A7C is: it’s the sensor, processor, and autofocus system of 2018’s A7 III in a body that’s...

A full-frame camera in a small; compact design; Sturdy; bright articulating screen; Sony’s real-time autofocus system

Still expensive; Poor menu button placement; Great full-frame lenses are expensive and heavy

Sony Alpha A7C review

The Sony A7C is an excellent camera that is almost perfectly suited for virtually every type of casual or serious photography, though it might not be the best choice for serious professional work.

Excellent image quality, Class-leading autofocus performance, Durable build quality, Valuable feature set, Impressive overall speed for an entry-level camera

Beginner-oriented (limited) controls, Viewfinder & touchscreen are also entry-level, No dual card slots

Sony Alpha A7C review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Sony Alpha A7C review

“The iPhone 14 isn't a huge upgrade compared to its predecessor. But with a great design, screen, performance, and cameras, that's far from a bad thing at all.”

Comfortable, high-end build, OLED screen looks fantastic, A15 chip performs great, Good camera upgrades, Dependable battery life, Helpful safety features

60Hz display, No telephoto camera, eSIM might be a pain for some

Sony Alpha A7C review

The iPhone 14 isn’t much of an upgrade over the iPhone 13, but it’s still a great device and an upgrade for anyone coming from the iPhone 11 or older.

Great camera, Good battery, Emergency features are cool, Still excellent performance

Display could use some upgrades
