ILCE-5100L

This is a beautifully designed compact camera that is generally easy to use and produces amazing photos. It takes a while to get to know your way through all the menus and hooking the camera up to my phone so I can take photos remotely, necessitated a trip back to the camera store but the...

High quality pictures on a budget.

I purchased this camera for a very specific purpose where I need a physically small body with high picture quality to be used with manual, prime lenses. It is only used on manual settings and I don't need a viewfinder. For all these conditions stated, it is superb.

Great Picture Quality

Sony A5100 review

Sony's CSC have an enviable track record in our reviews. The old NEX brand was retired, but the cameras, unchanged in concept, continue coming under the Alpha brand. The A5100 has all the usual traits: big APS-C sensor, interchangeable lenses and a slim body that's much closer in appearance and...

Amazing Camera!! Invest in a better lens!

Really love this camera!! Only problem for my more "professional" photographers is that the kit lens is really sub-par. For novice photographers you won't notice the difference but the more hands on photographers should definelty invest in a better lens. Overall this camera is a beast!

Most of the differences between the a5100 and its predecessor are internal. You get the 24MP sensor from the a6000 (up from 16MP on the NEX-5T), the latest Bionz X processor, a wider phase detection AF area, and much more promising video specs.

Sony is slowly replacing many of the cameras that used to be branded with the NEX moniker, and the A5100 is the replacement for the NEX-5T. Although the camera is the same shape as its predecessor, Sony has fitted it with the same excellent 24.3 million pixel sensor and Bionz X processor as found in...

Sony Alpha 5100 review

Sony's latest compact camera model, the Sony Alpha 5100 features some of the Japanese firm's latest technology, including the 24.3-million-pixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, with an sensitivity range of ISO 100-25,600 and the Bionz X processor seen in the more advanced Sony Alpha 6000.

Superb resolution and autofocus speed; Lightweight; but tough with a compact body; Advanced video filming capabilities

Only six frames per second continuous shooting; Touchscreen limited to taking pictures only; No input for external microphone

This mirrorless camera has the ability to change lenses, giving you more creative control-and it's more packable than a DSLR.

Snap into focus with ultra-fast 0.07 second2 AF (Auto Focus) speed and never miss the moment. The a5100 also realizes up to 6fps continuous shooting with AF tracking by making the most of the wide-area 179-point phase-detection AF sensor.
