Nice camera

Great camera the buttons take some getting use to. If I'm not mistaken there is no user Manual in the kit but you can easily download one. Great pictures, SO much lighter to carry around than a DSLR. Love the camera

Great pictures Light weight

Not user friendly Modes hard to switch Need screen protector

Bad Company and The Product was Defective

There is supposed to be at least 30 minutes of video recording time. The camera only recorded for 15 minutes and then shut down on us. We contact Sony and was told the item is defective and to send back to company. So we did.

This mirrorless camera has the ability to change lenses, giving you more creative control-and it's more packable than a DSLR.

Great Little Camera

I love this little Sony a5100 camera. If it had a viewfinder, it would be the absolutely perfect camera for taking everywhere I go. It does take great photos and has a large variety of lenses for it. There is a reason that this camera still sells well - it does so much, so well!

I love the camera but when it came by FedEx the bubble inside was popped and the box inside the box was moving around freely . I hope that the box sony packed it in kept it safe . if that didnt happen i would of gave it five stars .

This is an incredible camera and I believe it has the best image quality of any camera for the price. I used many cameras but this is best. The difference can clearly noticeable. you will like the sensor and imaging processor really do make a difference.

Terrible-blur on every photo

As my original review has vanished i'll try posting this again. A small but noticeable blur/smudge appears on every photo I take with this camera, even after JL paying to have the lens replaced. I'll now be returning the camera and demanding it is replaced and not just repaired.

Sony Alpha A5100 Review

The Sony Alpha A5100 is an update to the Sony Alpha A5000 , and is one of the smallest APS-C sensor mirrorless cameras with a built in flash. The updated A5100 adds phase-detection focus, a touch-screen, as well as a new 24.3 megapixel sensor, instead of the 20.1 megapixel sensor on the A5000.

Comfortable to hold; Compact with 16-50mm lens; Good image quality and colour; DRO and HDR modes; Quick focus and shutter response; Sony PlayMemories Apps available; 6fps with continuous AF; Wi-Fi and NFC; Low noise

Have to pay for additional features as "apps" that are free with other cameras: Time-lapse; Multiple-exposure; Multi Frame NR etc; Strong noise reduction; Kit lens not the best

Sony a5100 Review: A Great Mirrorless Camera for Beginners

Who it's for: Novices who want to develop advanced photo skills, or anyone who wants a good balance of image quality and portability. Sony's a5100 is a scaled down version of the already petite Alpha a6000 mirrorless camera (see review) .

Pocket-size design; excellent low-light image quality; fast; accurate autofocus; smooth video; built-in tutorials for novices

Important settings buried in menus; doesn't take external flash or microphone; Wi-Fi not iOS friendly
