Sonos Move - Black MOVE1AU1BLK review
We took a Sonos speaker on its first trip outside the house and off of Wi-Fi.- Outstanding sound with strong base and a sound signature that auto-tunes itself depending on where you place it. Splash resistant (IP56). Works with any existing Sonos setup. Microphones for barking at Google or Alexa voice assistants. Drop resistant. Bluetooth compatible.
- Cannot use the Sonos app while in Bluetooth mode. No advanced Bluetooth features (can only connect to one device at a time via Bluetooth). Not submersible in water, and touch controls tend to go haywire when wet. Expensive.
Sonos Move 2 Review
The Move 2 improves upon with predecessor with stereo audio and longer battery life, making it the best Sonos speaker for listening to music outside. We gave the original $399 Sonos Move high marks for pairing the company's Wi-Fi-based streaming experience with an outdoor-friendly, Bluetooth-capable design. The $449 Move 2 costs more and drops Google Assistant support, but dual tweeters give it the advantage of stereo sound, and it lasts more than twice as long as the original on battery. Beyond this, this smart speaker benefits from hands-free Alexa and Sonos Voice Control, as well as the intuitive Sonos app, which smoothly handles everything from multiroom setup to music streaming. Thanks to its robust stereo audio and longer battery life, the Move 2 is an easy recommendation for Sonos users who want to listen both indoors and out. For inside-only listeners, however, the Sonos Era 300 offers more power and Dolby Atmos support for the same price, earning it our Editors' Choice award.A Familiar Design With Upgraded Tweeters Available in matte black, olive (green), or white, the 6.6-pound Move 2 measures 9.5 by 6.3 by 5.0 inches...- Powerful audio output with rich bass and bright highs
- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi streaming
- Excellent Sonos app
- Hands-free Alexa and Sonos Voice Control
- Improved battery life
- Not fully waterproof
- Outdated Bluetooth specs
- Expensive

Sonos Move review: Finally, a portable Sonos with Bluetooth connectivity
We've been waiting a long time to see Sonos launch a portable speaker with Bluetooth streaming. In fact, we asked co-founder Tom Cullen about a portable speaker back in 2015, so it's something we've been pining after for a while.- Excellent sound quality
- Durable and water-resistant design
- Bluetooth capabilities
- AirPlay 2
- Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa support
- Stereo pairing
- Heavy and therefore not all that portable
- Quite expensive
- No voice control in Bluetooth mode
- Can't use two Sonos Move speakers as surrounds
Sonos Move: Sonos goes mobile
In short, I love the Sonos Move. I was initially surprised at how big and heavy the Sonos Move was and at 3kg and nigh on a foot tall, it isn't a speaker you're going to want to sling your backpack. But if you want great sound quality you have to accept some compromises.- Awesome sound quality
- Weatherproof and drop-proof
- Alexa and Google Assistant support
- Big and heavy
- Expensive
