"Don't listen to IGN or anyone else how says the game sucks!"

This is the best Sonic game EVER! The control is perfect, the story line is great and it looks AMAZING!!! Best Game for the Wii U and NEEDS TO BE BOUGHT!!

Sonic Lost World

In the eternal battle of Mario versus Sonic, consider Sonic Lost World a notch in the Italian plumber's win column. The game is a blatant rip-off of the Super Mario Galaxy series, unsuccessfully transporting the high-speed antics of Sega's famous blue hedgehog, who's been pretty down on his luck...

Review: Sonic Lost World stumbles at high speed

A notable addition to the Sonic catalogue, but be prepared to turn the air blue from time to time.

Lush; alluring visuals; 2D stages remain the highlight; Impressive audio work

Frequently frustrating flaws; Power-ups are a waste of time; Slower Sonic takes some adjusting to

Sonic: Lost World review

It's strange that the highest rating Sonic game in the last 10 years is one where Sonic doesn't even use his legs to go fast. What I'm trying to say is, since Sonic Adventure released onto the Dreamcast back in 1998, there really hasn't been a Sonic title that has been universally praised.

Sonic Lost World review: 'A return to form'

Sonic the Hedgehog has experienced mixed fortunes in recent years, struggling to find his feet in a brave new world of 3D platforming.

Sonic Lost World (Wii U) Review

It's been a rather turbulent time for Sonic the Hedgehog over the last two decades. Leaping into the platforming scene in 1991, the SEGA mascot was primed to ignite the living-room with liquid smooth gameplay that coupled together speed and obstacle precision in a truly harmonious way.

Sonic: Lost World

After the success of Sonic 4, Colors, and Generations, this is a big disappointment for Sega's speeding blue bullet. Sonic Lost World clumsily tears all the wrong pages out of the Super Mario Galaxy playbook, and in so doing, loses the breathless speed and fluidity that makes a Sonic game a Sonic...

Colorful look; Many alternate paths

Poor level design; Lack of speed; Awkward controls

Sonic Lost World review

There's a saying that goes: "Always aim for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars." And so it is for Sonic Lost World, which clearly sets out to be Super Mario Galaxy 3: Hedgehog Edition.

Gorgeous; authentically stylised Sonic visuals; The run button finally fixes 3D hog control; It may as well be called Sonic X-Treme

The story and cutscenes are abysmal; Not always as intuitive as it should be; ‘Lives' system doesn't fit the game

Sonic Lost World

Scroll down to the bottom for a video review. Sonic's been on a roll as of late. Both Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations succeeded where past 3D efforts failed by returning the focus to platforming.

Great level design; Lots of content; Smooth 60 FPS framerate

Certain Color Powers utilize the Wii U GamePad in silly ways; Jump controls are a bit floaty

Review: Sonic Lost World (Wii U)

Sonic Lost World [...] represents the future of the series which is now looking fantastically bright. Sonic has had a rather turbulent time over the past ten years. Ever since the original Sega Megadrive games it seems as if Sonic Team has never quite been able to recapture the essence of what made...

Well-balanced gameplay mechanics; Stunningly good art direction; An amazing aural experience; Brilliant humour

Some utterly cringe-worthy dialogue; The Deadly Six could have been deadlier
