Coming in to 2013, Sonic the Hedgehog was on the rise. With the successful and enjoyable releases of Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations , it had become okay to have faith in the blue blur after years of catastrophic failure.

Lost World is the latest title in the Sonic series released on both Nintendo Wii U and 3DS. In this edition Dr. Eggman is at it again, harnessing the power of menacing creatures known as The Deadly Six but this time the creatures rise up against their master and for the first time Sonic and Dr.

Sonic's back! But wait! Don't go yet! This might be a good game - although the odds are rather against it. It's rather tough to explain that once upon a time, Sonic The Hedgehog was an absolute gaming goliath.

Sega are enjoying a partnership with Nintendo that older fans like myself never saw coming. These two rivals were always supposed to butt heads and eternally try to outdo each other. Strangely though, this newfound cooperation isn't such a bad alternative.

This game is so much fun, there are many possible things to do (run on walls, for example), the graphics are amazing, the music is beautiful. In some levels, there are multiple paths that you can choose so you can replay the same levels and they can be totally different.

Sonic Lost World isn't a bad game, but it's simply not the game Sega is capable of producing. Sonic games are generally built on two pillars: speed and attitude. While Lost World carries both of these, to varying success, when faced with the looming, and unfortunate, similarities to Nintendo's own...

I love platformers; they're probably my very favourite sort of games. I grew up playing Mario, Adventure Island and just about every other game that involved jumping in and on things. I, rather naturally, have an old love for Sonic the Hedgehog.

Oh Sonic, how you effortlessly crush our dreams as though they were but hapless robots of Dr Robotnik's creation. Those trailers looked so good . An obvious and welcome dollop of Mario Galaxy mixed in with instantly recognisable Sonic-flavoured herbs and spices.

The game is good not the traditional side scrolling sonic games. It has the 3d view in it but the kids really enjoy the game as much as they do mario...
