decent but leaves a lot to be desired

Sonic fans say this is the best Sonic game in years. I'd agree if Sonic Generations doesn't feel as rough and unpolished as it is.

Sonic Generations is meant to commemorate Sonic's 20th anniversary so it's got a ton of references to most retail releases including obscure stuff like Knuckles Chaotix; Also has a ton of music and artwork from previous Sonics.

Game is short and padded with a lot of annoying and repetitive challenges; controls are flaky; 2d Sonic has turning issues; On a 2d plane; Yes; It takes him a few tenths of a second to turn around.

Sonic Generations Review

On 3DS, Sonic Generations is a more half-hearted anniversary affair which somehow misses the point of the whole exercise.

Sonic Generations Review

Sonic Generations was an interesting idea. It was cool to see classic Sonic once again in modern day. I don't play many Sonic games nowadays, but once I heard City Escape (favotite childhood Sonic level) was going to be in this game, I had to get it.

Sonic Generations

For a while now, Sonic's real race has been to get back to his '90s glory days. His 3D adventures were critically scorned and last year's Sonic 4 managed just one 2D episode, but with Generations, Sega seems to have found a good formula for the future.

+ The 2D Sonic stages are the best since the Genesis era and the 3D levels aren't half-bad; + Very robust and engaging soundtrack

? Has any silent videogame hero become more endearing after starting to talk

Sonic Boom!

Ah, Sonic! Gaming's most notable speed freak. I remember him fondly from his Sonic 2 days, when he was just a fresh faced upstart. Surely he's now a burnt out shell, wrecked from years of obvious amphetamine abuse? Actually no, he's looking pretty good for himself.

Brilliant level design; Eye-watering graphics; Sonic the Hedgehog

3D platforming; Crap boss fights; Terrible story

- 2 Sonic concept executed nicely; - Re-imagined levels; - Great Sonic tribute

- Control can feel unresponsive; - Framerate stutters; - Needs more levels

Sonic Generations – Review (PS3, 360)

There's a saying that goes "Helen of Troy had a face that launched a thousand ships" and in gaming terms an equivalent would be that "Sonic's character has sold a few million consoles" in a time when Sega were not only a software powerhouse but a hardware one too, dominating the landscape with the...

Sonic Generations Review

While Sonic Generations is far and away the best Sonic game in a long time, there are still enough niggles to put off new players who will not have the same love for the hedgehog and his blend of twitch reflexes and level memorisation.

Great game! Lives up to the classics!

Awesome game. I am an avid sonic fan but recently most pf the games werent living up to the classics. This one has great gameplay, and tons of missions.

Great game!

I got this for my eight year old son. He really likes it. It's fun, not too easy, but not too hard either. Great buy.
