During Sonic's birthday party, a monster known as "Time Eater" vacuums his friends and drops everybody into limbo as it tears through time and space. Sonic and Tails meet their younger selves and recognise levels they ran through in previous games.

While the move to 3D was the best thing that ever happened to Mario, developer Sonic Team has consistently failed to reimagine the lickety-split action of his fiercest rival in three dimensions. But with Sonic Generations, the blue blur has finally found his stride.

We'd like to say that Sonic the Hedgehog is a character that has had to endure much ridicule over the past few years, but he really hasn't. While it's true that the series did go through an especially rough patch, there have been quite a few decent games leading up to the release of Sonic...

While many Sonic games have gained a notoriety for being disappointing over the past decade, several truly great Sonic titles have appeared exclusively on Nintendo systems, particularly on handhelds.

Sonic Generations manages to work with the good and ignore the bad, if fans allow it this could be the reset that the Sonic franchise needed. You'll find the purity of the original games mixed in with the best parts of the Adventures, Advance and Colours games.

Let's just pray on bended knees that it doesn't take another set of poor incarnations before we see Sonic appear again with such splendour and delight. The foundations have certainly been laid for another epic return. Long live Sonic the Hedgehog!

Sonic generations is much better than I had expected. Every stage comes from sonic's past including Green hill zone, emerald coast etc. There's even a sonic colours stage that lets you use the wisp's powers. Every Stage has a modern sonic, Older sonic and special versions of stages.

This game is great brings the old and the new versions of sonic together brilliantly quite a big game and the bonus of doing each level in the old school 2d and the newer 3d versions highly recommended.

It's a good game. Bit of an odd story line, and rather short. I completed it in a few hours. It was a nice blast from the past though, playing through those 2d levels. They should do that with more Sonic games.

Great game and highly reccomended for any fan of Sonic! Don't let the last couple of years worth of sonic games fool you into thinking this will be bad! Very nostalgic for people that played Sonic back in the day :p. Only about 5 hours long though.
