Sol Republic Punk

The Sol Republic Punk's claim to fame is that it plays louder than your typical tiny wireless Bluetooth speaker, with 6 watts of power. It's also water- and shock-resistant and offers 8 hours of battery life, with a 60-foot (18m) wireless range, around double the usual range for Bluetooth devices.

The Sol Republic Punk is an attractively designed micro wireless speaker that's water- and shock-resistant and plays loud for its small size with minimal distortion; It also has decent battery life (8 hours) and offers extended wireless range (up to 60 feet)

Its $70 list price is a little high; no speakerphone capabilities

SOL Republic Punk Wireless Speaker

Still, if it's a bigger bass sound you're after, you'll need to look into models like the Jabra Solemate Mini or the Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Speaker , recognizing that even these devices don't exactly pack a subwoofer-like punch.

At moderate volumes, delivers a clean audio performance with a pleasant focus on the mids; Can get quite loud; Water-resistant, easily portable design; Includes both an Aux input and output

Can't handle some deep bass tracks at maximum volume; No built-in speakerphone; Pet hair magnet; Included cables are extremely short

SOL REPUBLIC PUNK : Don't Let the Name Punk Fool You [Review]

Just when we thought SOL REPUBLIC was done with their party favored DECK that came out last year, they introduce a smaller more portable speaker with the PUNK. Now don't let the name PUNK fool you as it's not that in the music playing department.

Horrible battery life

I've had it for about a year and use it only occasionally. Battery was never good but now it's completely unacceptable. It was fully charged yesterday, and today it played for about 10 minutes before it died.

SOL Republic PUNK

ImageTagInstance gallery-fdfb5e6b-4539-4650-9d3a-41558d26281e Flashy, that’s the kind of reputation that audio company SOL Republic is after with its line of audio products. So far, we’ve taken a liking to their unorthodox designs – evident in our review of the HTMLTagInstance html-tag-4fc3d9fc-24ef-4d90-9caa-86be00db71aa SOL Republic Tracks Air. Besides headphones, the company is also slowly building up its collection of portable Bluetooth speakers. Well, the SOL Republic PUNK is one of them, as it’s an oddly shaped thing that goes beyond the traditional norm of a Bluetooth speaker. It’s all about making a statement with this one! The SOL Republic PUNK is certainly unorthodox looking, just like the company’s line of headphones, seeing that this square puck shaped thing doesn’t really jump out as being a speaker right from the onset – that’s because it’s sporting a tripod mount on its underside. Available in 7 energetic colors, they’re all bright and make quite a statement. Best of all,...
