Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 review

Precision, stealth, and timing are the essential traits of a sniper. One mistake can mean the difference between life and death, and knowing when to pull the trigger can determine whether a mission is a success or a failure. There's no margin for error.

Feeling like a real sniper; The detailed bullet physics; Pulling off the perfect shot with no HUD assists

The corny dialogue; Sub-par visuals; Tacked-on multiplayer

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 Review

Amidst all of the flaws in Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior, it's hard not to enjoy the heavy amount of sniping, but what I'd consider filler between bouts of sniping is what bogs down the eight-hour experience grossly. Vast, detailed landscapes falter in significance at the game's overall lack of ambition.

Realistic; enjoyable sniping; Vast graphical detail

Multiplayer is a joke; Very weak cookie-cutter narrative; Design flaws throughout

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is a superior shooter when compared to its predecessor. Granted, that isn't saying much. Said predecessor suffered from terrible artificial intelligence, absurd bullet physics, and an overall level of difficulty on par with solving a Rubik's Cube while navigating white-water...

Great enemy AI presents a real challenge; Mostly realistic stealth mechanics; Well-balanced difficulty settings; Atmospheric presentation ramps up the intensity

Checkpoints are too spread out; Some level design quirks; Multiplayer is an afterthought

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2

Poor: Something went wrong somewhere along the line. The original idea might have promise, but in practice the game has failed. Threatens to be interesting sometimes, but rarely.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 (PS3) - Review

Despite every single shooting game of the last 10 years seemingly having at least one type of sniper rifle, there's been a dearth of quality sniping games. The original Sniper: Ghost Warrior is a case in point.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 (PS3)

"Cole Anderson lay very still, hidden by a rock and a scraggly bush, protected from sight by his training and camouflage. He was tired, hot and with an enemy sentry standing only three metres beyond the rocky outcropping currently being called home.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 Review | "Bolt Actions Speak Louder Than Words"

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 excels at what you would expect it to: the sniping.  Besides that, the game fails in almost all areas.  It's too short with essentially no replay value, even with a multiplayer. The graphics are hideous and the potential landscapes are a waste.  The idiotic A.I.

I like it when sequels go in the right direction. I really do. It's encouraging and shows that if the developers just take the next step (or couple of steps), they could produce a must-have game that is highly satisfying for a great many.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 Review

There's a level in Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 that perfectly sums up what a gargantuan waste of time the whole endeavour is. Well, there are loads of them – pretty much the whole game qualifies in that regard – but this particular stage seemed custom-built to show off the game's worst qualities.

The first act was good, but things went downhill from there

The game consist of 3 acts. The first act was good, but things went downhill from there. Things that makes this game a waste of your time: If you do anything to sound the alarm, all enemy units know exactly where you are.
