We've all been there... Sometimes we just need to sit back and eat junk food, sing along to that sh*te song on the radio all day everyday or put your feet up and sit through an easy watch but absolutely terrible film with Adam Sandler. The same can be said for video games.
Easy; SloMo; KILLIN' DEM BAD GUYZZZ!!!111
So Dumb; Boring; Unoriginal; Lame; Popular
Its a fun game and despite what some reviewers are saying you should play it if sniping and slow-mo kills are your thing but I would suggest buying it on sale or buying it full price, then trade it in quickly because it doesn't have much replay value even with multiplayer.
For some reason I can't find fault with this game, despite the countless bugs, crashes and freezes I've had with it, it's just so much fun and seems to play better than it's World War 2 prequel. Then again, it might just be the more vibrant colour palatte that makes it better.
Sniper Elite 3 is the story of one bullet's journey from rifle to chest cavity, told hundreds of times over. From the arc of the bullet...
Open-ended levels allow strategic play; Nailing that perfect shot from a mile away never gets old
Kill-cam loses appeal fast; Overall lack of polish; Flat narrative and generic objectives
Sniper Elite is somewhat of an odd series. It started as what many considered a decent third person, World War II-themed shooter that follows Karl Fairburne's mission to stop Soviet forces from acquiring Germany's information for building nuclear weapons.
Once again all-American hero Karl Fairburne is lining up Nazis and dispatching them one (sometimes two or three) at a time in this grizzly World War 2-themed shooter. We say grizzly, because the gruesome X-ray kill cam that came to symbolise the last game makes a return, for better and for worse.
It's easy to see where all the work went here, Sniper Elite III's core mechanics are solid, the X-Ray kills are definitely a gimmick; but turn out to...
Glorious X-Ray Kills; Well implemented stealth; Open environment design; Great Co-op support
Place holder story/characters; Broken Multi-player
The prequel to Sniper Elite V2, Sniper Elite III, centers on OSS sniper Karl Fairburne, who is in the middle of the June 1942 Battle of Gazala, to assist British soldiers in stopping General Erwin Rommel's forces.
Being the guy to review Sniper Elite III for the Xbox One, I will admit that I have never played any of the previous games, so as I started on my virtual adventure I was going in with zero expectations.
