Sniper Elite III (SE3) isn't what we think of as a good game. It betrays almost everything we've come to understand about what makes a game good. There's no consistency in the way it presents its world through gameplay, it almost deliberately teaches you how to play it wrong, the story it tells is...

As a sniping game, Sniper Elite III is pretty fun. The kill cams are brutal, but you won't be able to look away, and it's hard to fault hitting a man between the eyes from across the map.

Sniper Elite 3 is still a better sniping game than a stealth game, but at least the series has finally managed to create a fair balance between the two schools of gameplay.

At some points feels like a chore

When it comes to first- and third-person shooters, I've never been one to play as a sniper. As much as I admire the power they wield, my aim isn't very good and I quickly grow impatient. I would rather run and gun, perhaps with a powerful shotgun or dual-wielding futuristic laser pistols.

If they only knew. Knew that their lives would end at any second. As soon as that church bell rang again to be exact. I just had to hope that they didn't move between now and then. Thirty seconds to go. The bell rang once every two minutes and this would be the last time it rang today.

If you like sneaky snipery games, then I'm sure you'll like it. Brilliant when playing with a friend in Co-Op. The X-Ray KillCam (gruesome) does get a bit 'Meh' when you have played it for a while

Sniper Elite 3 is the best example of its genre, full stop. A fantastic sharpshooting experience is interspersed with more considered, more competent stealth and action, and the array of tools and tricks available to Karl Fairburne is impressive indeed.
