Sleeping Dogs Review (PC)

I might be on my way to a robbery that might involve more violence than a small war but, as an undercover cop, my character Wei Shen cannot afford to do anything to assault the community he is serving, like hitting a pedestrian or using the wrong lane.

+ Hand-to-hand combat; + Some character development; + Hong Kong as a character

- Driving; - Main plot progression; - Lacks originality

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition

Re-release this! *Roundhouse kicks for everyone* Video games are one of the few mediums that get away with lightly touching up a few elements and rereleasing a product just months after the original.

Sleeping Dogs review

The story behind the development of Sleeping Dogs is almost as interesting as the stuff you get to do within the game itself.  The game started out being the next planned chapter in Activision's True Crime series, even getting an advertisement through a teaser trailer at the Spike Video Game...

Sleeping Dogs (PC) Review

Sleeping Dogs is a game that almost did not come to fruition. Originally to be published by Activision under their ‘True Crime" series, Activision decided to pull the plug on the title as they did not believe it was capable of competing in the open-world action game market (read: Grand Theft Auto...

Sleeping Dogs PC Review

Most games that are canceled don't come back to life, and those that do aren't usually worth playing once they're released.

It's the year 2013, and there's no shortage of third-person open-world action games to choose from. It's a genre some say was perfected years ago with PS2-era Grand Theft Auto games. So how does a game with a rocky past, at least three name changes, and a major development shift stand a chance?

Sleeping Dogs Review

Much like the Hong Kong cinema it lovingly recreates, Sleeping Dogs adheres vehemently to genre. Instead of trying to reinvent the open-world game, United Front's once-troubled tale sits squarely inside the city limits defined by Grand Theft Auto, happy to cultivate memorable moments on and around...

Sleeping Dogs PC Review

Sleeping dogs is a big game, there is no doubt about that, with around 30 hours of gameplay should you wish to pick every reach of the side missions, although there are plenty of hidden objects littered around the game world to keep you distracted if that is what you wish, I managed to complete the...

Sleeping Dogs review

Winston Chu has a bulging, tattooed body, a gold-plated gun and a massive square head. He's a gangster, so that face is locked into a permanent scowl, a symptom of years of steroid abuse and a childhood under the fist of a psychotic mother with an unhealthy love of cleavers.

Sleeping Dogs

Overall, Sleeping Dogs is a lot better game than I think most people would ever have thought a year ago. While not perfect, the game does a lot right, and it does it differently enough to make it stand out from the crowd.
