Skullcandy Venue Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones - Black S6HCW-L003 review

The Skullcandy Venue are decent mixed usage over-ear headphones that have an exciting sound. They have a "V-shaped", or "smiley-face", ...

Skullcandy Venue Review

If you can't afford Sony's WH-1000XM3 over-ears, then Skullcandy's Venue are a decent substitute. While they don’t sound as good, aren’t as well made and the noise cancellation isn’t as effective, the sound is thoughtful and fun.

Fun sub-bass boost; Clearer sound than you’d guess; ANC is great for city streets and the office;

ANC struggles with loud, very low-frequency noise; Weak mids; Build feels slightly cheap;

Skullcandy Venue Review

There are plenty of noise-canceling Bluetooth headphones, but only a few have respectable audio and deliver quality noise cancellation. Fewer still offer ANC (active noise cancellation) and cost less than $200. So, it's fair to wonder if the $179.99 Skullcandy Venue falls into that revered set. The good news is the ANC provides above-average noise cancellation. The bad news is it suffers from issues common to lower-budget ANC, like audible hiss and an influence on audio performance when activated. But if you're looking for bass-forward, wireless, sub-$200 headphones with good-enough ANC, the Venue is a solid option. Design Always clever and stylish with its product design, Skullcandy keeps things simple and (mostly) unmarked with the Venue. The two external ambient mics (for the ANC), however, have tiny Xs that could just as easily be featureless design flourishes. Available in all-black or white with crimson highlights, the Venue has a matte plastic build with a detented headband...

The wireless, bass-forward Skullcandy Venue headphones offer surprisingly decent noise cancellation for a relatively low price.

Powerful audio performance with dialed-up bass response and sculpted highs; Better-than-average ANC; Can be used in wired passive or active mode; Detachable cable

ANC creates high frequency hiss and affects sound signature; Audio performance not for those seeking accuracy

Does the job decently.

The sound quality is really good for the price, though the ANC isn't as good as I thought it would be.

They just don’t seem to be the quality I have come to expect for

Mighty Ape has been fantastic in dealing with it. I bought these for my son but the first pair started screaming in his ear on the right side we sent it back for a replacement and we got it, but a few months later now and they are buzzing in the right ear and rattling when the volume gets turned up. Both Mighty Ape and Skullcandy are great, I just wouldn’t recommend this model of headphone. His Hesh headphones lasted 5 years plus and still were working when he decided to upgrade for better sound quality

Love these things!

They come with me everywhere, and I'm never worried a out damaging them as the build quality is very good. The sound is AMAZING and I can literally not stand to listen through regular headphones anymore, especially at noisy places like school or the gym.

Very happy

Does everything it says it should. The noise cancelling is really good outside. Had it a few months now, still working the same.
