I partitioned the disk after receiving it into a 1 TB TimeMachine volume and the other 3 TB for files. Worked great from March 2018 when I bought it to about October/November time frame, when the Time Machine backup suddenly started failing and I could not see that volume in the Finder etc.

Very nice product! Works out of the box. It has a great rugged construction, so even if it drops, it wont hurt the drive. I am very happy with the delivery and the 1 TB drive unit.

When your hard disk is squeezed for space here is a good value, portable disk that is both easy to install and rugged enough to withstand the odd drop! The USB lead is neatly stored around the body of the device, when not in use.
