Silent Hill 3

Let's face it, there aren't that many scary games out there. In the old days, the horror genre was pretty much reduced to classics like 7th Guest, Gabriel Knight, Alone in the Dark, Phantasmagoria, and even Doom. (Ed. - Hurray for Satanism!

Visual improvements; good sounds and character voicing; occasionally fun thanks to the constant action and balanced weapons

Not all that scary; weak plot structure; the map and inventory seem impractical; sporadic puzzles hinder the gameplay; minor AI issues; jerky camera

Silent Hill 3 PC

The third installment in the Silent Hill series is as scary as ever, but unlike Silent Hill 2, builds upon the story of the first game, which was only available for the Playstation.

Silent Hill 3

If games like Resident Evil already caused you serious nightmares (a little cardiac arrest every now and then when something jumps you from behind is ok, though), you shouldn't even think about getting yourself a title from the Silent Hill series.

Ah, the halcyon days spent cowering in the dark, struggling to hold onto the last vestiges of lucidity. The intense, crippling fear; the ceaseless legions of nightmarish abominations; and lest we forget, the blood. Good times.

A classic

Love this game, and always will. Konami, in its current form, is incompetent. Go back to a time when they sucked less....SH3 is almost great! Love heather, love the original voice work. Get this game!!!!

Silent Hill 3

This is my favorite Silent Hill game, possibly my favorite Horror game ever. The graphics are still excellent, although a touch out of date by now with the PS3 and Xbox out, and the characters and story are deep, rather dark, and a little disturbing, prefect for a horror game.

Silent Hill 3

In a change from the norm (or Harry or James), this time around you play as a female main character. But calm those rampant loins boys (and girls) because Heather (that's you that is) is a teary-eyed, depressed looking and completely unappealing blonde girlie who stumbles and moonwalks her way...

Umm… It's scary? (in places)

A poor third outing for the series; Same old controls; same old gameplay; but seems to have lost some of the atmosphere and style

Silent Hill 3 review

The Silent Hill series is Konami's answer to Capcom's Resident Evil . Capcom's series began life on the PlayStation in 1996, and created the survival horror genre for the over 18s of the PlayStation generation. The series was hugely popular, with the PS1 seeing two sequels.

Wicked game!! Probably the best in the series!!

This game is amazing! It's unsettling, exciting, and scary as hell, the way a horror game should be! The beginning's a little confusing, but as the game goes on, it all begins to suck you in. The graphics are just gorgeous. The voice acting was pretty good in the game. The puzzles make you think.

Konami's Silent Hill series is known for two things: loads of creepy atmosphere and awkward, underdeveloped stories. Silent Hill 3, released on the PlayStation 2 earlier this fall, continues both these traditions by offering up a survival horror adventure that's long on eeriness and short on sense.
