Best value Ultra Wide Angle for DX
I needed a UWA for my D90, and I was long time undecided between the Sigma 10-20mm and the Nikon 10-24mm (about twice expensive), so I rented both and carefully compared. The pictures from the Sigma 10-20mm ended up same quality or slightly better, a little sharper at the wider focal length, with...
Pros:
- Sharp lens
- fast AF
- compact and well built
Cons:
- Moderate vignetting - not worse than competition

Though this corrected 10-20mm lens from Sigma comes at a relatively cheap price, it doesn't strike you as cheap when you use it. It has a real quality feel, enhanced with the matt finish that's standard with a Sigma EX series lens.

I bought one of these lenses and am very happy with its sharpness and overall performance for the buck.

Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Review
Using such a wide angle-of-view presents a whole host of fresh creative possibilities and since buying this lens, I rarely use any other focal range to shoot landscape images.

Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens Review
Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM is one of Sigma's professional grade ultra wide zoom lenses. The build quality of Sigma's EX marked lenses rivals that of Canon's L series lenses. This lens falls into this category - it looks and feels sturdy.

Built quality.....image quality is excellent.

To clarify, I am not an expert, more of an advanced amateur, but there was no option for this, and I'm definitely above Intermediate. Also, I live in the UK so price given is in Pound Sterling. I bought this on eBay from a reputable seller, even after hearing about Sigma's quality control issues.
Pros:
- Build quality
- With my copy, this was definitely the strong point of this lens
- I just cannot fault it
- It's heavy enough to feel solid in the hand, and light enough to not be a chore to carry around
- It feels like it could take a lot of beating, and also gives it an expensive feel, Image Quality.
Cons:
- Corner quality wide open
- Corner quality at wide apertures is always a problem for lenses (for some it's much less of a problems than for others, but corners are generally weaker than the center), but the distortion on this lens definitely doesn't help much, Distortion.
