This is an in-depth review of the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sport, a high-end super telephoto lens with a versatile zoom range and a wide constant aperture of f/2.8, designed for wildlife, sports and portrait photographers. This is the third iteration of the lens.

Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens Review

The Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens is a physically beautiful lens that delivers also-beautiful image quality even with a wide open aperture. Remarkable is that this lens has the widest max aperture available in any 300mm lens (f/2.8), but still offers a significant 120-300mm zoom...

REVIEW: Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM S Lens Review

This 2.5x zoom lens sports a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, silent focusing and optical stabilisation. It slots into Sigma's 'Sports' range of lenses and is especially interesting as the zoom range is similar to that of a 70-200mm lens with a 1.4x teleconverter fitted, whilst maintaining a fast...

Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports

This lens is a significant improvement over the previous versions and well worth the upgrade. I concur with the findings of the review here, and add that the AF operation can be improved significantly with use of the USB dock.

Perfect lens for sports photography

This lens is sn excellent value

I use this lens to acquire candid shots of people, for wildlife and for plants, such as flowers, that are too far away for my close-up lens. I read many reviews before purchasing the lens and I agree with the conclusions: 1) the optics are excellent, especially for the money.

great but heavy lens. great for video.

Monster size, weight and performance. for the cost of a used canon 300 2.8 prime in excellent shape I bought this instead. much more versatile. However its also heavier than the canon. I'm using this 95% for video on a C300 mk2 FWIW. The AF for video generally works very well.

Sigma know the score!

Take it you've all heard of how heavy this lens is, and yes it's heavy. But who's bothered I know I'm not. Stick it on a good tripod or monopod, and let the fun begin. This lens is awesome.

This 3390g behemoth of a lens fits snugly into Sigma's Sport line of glass and is designed to be mounted to a tripod rather than hand-held. This leads it to be rather more specialist than many lenses in test, though doesn't detract from its image quality.
