I used to own the $150 pair about 4 years ago

Sadly, my puppy (back then) chewed them up as well as the replacement pair I begrudgingly bought after those. Needless to say after $300 and no headphones to show for it, I was reticent about purchasing a new pair. As with the old pairs, these new SE215s can only be heard to be appreciated.

Review: Shure SE215 SPE vs SE215

I would like to thank Hifiheadphones for lending me the SE215, and Shure Asia for lending me the SE215 SPE.

Shure SE215: These are Shure good entry level earphones.

Worth every penny I spent on them.

Amazing sound quality; reinforced cables to prevent breakage; comfortable to wear

Shure SE215 black Sound Isolating Earphones Single Dynamic MicroDriver

Really good headphones. Great sound and really comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

My first set of audiophile (kinda) buds. They sound amazing, but the bass is overwhelming in some situations. I can't seem to find the perfect EQ setting that's built into my iPod touch.

"Shure thing"

I've been through quite a few pairs of earphones over the years. Normally I go for reasonably cheap earphones as with constant use they tended not to last long no matter what brand I bought. Last Christmas I asked my parents for a new pair of earphones as my last pair were falling apart.

in ear monitors

I am usually not a big fan of in ear monitors but I was in need of a pair for a single situation that I was in on the road so I decided to just purchase these from a locals music store that I have never heard of .

Shure SE215 review

Shure's consumer products use many of the same technologies as the company's famous stage equipment, but this lifts many of Shure's headphones above the budget of most non-enthusiasts.

Shure SE215 Earphones (Playback 52)

Marketing, public relations pros, and, yes, even journalists, tend to neglect the middle-priced products in most manufacturers' lines. It's easy to understand why. Budget-priced products can be praised for their value, and top-of-the-line items can be lauded for performance, but what do you say...

Shure SE215

Although they're the cheapest model in the Shure range, the SE215s borrow surprisingly heavily from the ultra high-end SE535s . They have the same style of moulded closure, for example, which sits in your ear while the cable comes out the top and fits around it.

Pro build and features; rich; weighty sound; good mid/bass detail

Not as driving or sparkly as we; d like; thanks to that rich character
