Although many Serge Lutens fragrances are based on a similar oriental accord of balsamic amber, violet and pale woods, I cannot resist yet another new interpretation of Lutens' trademark exoticism.

I recently received two Serge Lutens perfume samples, from Glossybox if I recall rightly. The first one I tried was L'Eau which is a very simple scent yet absolutely gorgeous and I think I fell in love with it just a little bit, so I was really looking forward to trying the other Serge Lutens scent...
good staying power; might be nice at Christmas
too spicy for me; think it would be better suited to a candle or air freshener than a perfume
I thought I would like this to help clothing and towels that are sitting in closet for period of time to smell fresh. However, seems to have too much musk. It's a matter of personal preference.
Tried sample loved it. Ordered bottle. Dosnt smell the same at all. Not sure which one the proper smell.
Used it in a tropical country during the evening and it smells great. Especially when it reminds people of gingerbread and the train is full of hungry office workers rushing back home from work. Heads turn the moment I walked in/out of the train- with a pleasant face and not disgusted looks.
Clean & Fresh; Great Smell; Not Overpowering; Sensual
Doesn't Hold; Too Expensive; Too Weak
This pales in structure and uniqueness to "A La Nuit" for Jasmine offerings from Serge Lutens. The top notes on "La Religieuse" are a fresh soapy Jasmine and a faint aseptic Frankincense that reminds me of catholic Mass and the freshness of non-sweetened blossoms of Spring of "Nuit De Cellophane"...
