Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless In Ear Headphones M3 IETW review

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless earphones cost a pretty penny but deliver very good audio quality you can adjust to your taste.

Excellent audio performance with rich lows and solid balance; Free app includes user-adjustable EQ to dial in preferred sound signature; Excellent mic intelligibility; Transparent listening mode.

Expensive; On-ear controls are a little cluttered.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless review

Everyone wants to sell you a pair of true wireless in-ears - but not many companies have what it takes to compete with Sennheiser. You'll find daintier options, not to mention cheaper ones, but you won't find better-sounding buds at this price.

Very accomplished sound; Decent touch- and voice-control; aptX 5.0 and aptX low-latency Bluetooth;

Biggish buds and charging case; Humdrum battery life;

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless Review

Technically accomplished true wireless earphones offering lush sound, but the price is high and intuitiveness isn't what it should be.

Good spatial imaging; Rich sound; Good core Bluetooth performance;

Some inter-earpiece blips; The price is high;

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless review: Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless crush AirPods on sound quality

There are only a few truly wireless earphones worth buying right now and Sennheiser's Momentum True Wireless are one of them. At $300 (£279, AU$499), they're more expensive than Apple AirPods, Jabra's Elite 65t and Elite Active 65t and Bose SoundSport Free. But they sounds superior to those models with better bass and cleaner, more detailed sound. They also feature very good performance for making calls and offer a generally comfortable fit, though they're bigger than the Jabras and stick out of your ears a little more.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless are the best-sounding true wireless earphones we've tested to date, but you'll have to pay a premium for that better sound.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless headphones fit comfortably and sound excellent, and their wireless performance was solid with minimal dropouts; They work very well for making calls, have touch controls, and their battery-charging case charges via USB-C (cable included); There's a transparency mode, and you can tweak the sound via the companion app.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless headphones are pricey, and they're a bit larger than Jabra's Elite 65t buds; Battery life isn't quite as good as what you get with certain competing models, and not everybody will love the touch controls.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless Review

Though things started out shaky, wire-free earphones are now hitting their stride. At $299.95, the handsome Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless earphones are among the pricier options in a category that isn't exactly known for value. Luckily, they sound great and can be tweaked to your exact taste using a companion app. They also offer excellent mic intelligibility—a rarity in this category—and a transparent listening mode. Overall, a very high price is the only thing holding this pair back from our Editors' Choice. Design Let's start with the battery case. Just about every one we've seen so far is similar in size and material, and while this one doesn't deviate in its roughly 1.5-by-3.0-by-1.8-inch size (HWD), its gray, cloth-covered exterior is simple, original, and classy. It's one of the first cases that looks like something you might actually want to show off. It's also pretty necessary, as the earphones only get roughly four hours of battery life per charge, which is pretty mu...
