This is one of the best hard disk drives available in the market. The hard disk is very easy to use and operate. Just go for it friends.

Great easy to use product

This is a good product for the price. It does what it is advertised to do and is easy to use. I use it to backup my PC files monthly.

High failure rate

This is the THIRD Seagate drive muilti GB drive I have had which has simply stopped working (the last two fortunately within the warranty period) for no apparent reason. One died in the middle of a backup, the other was working second to last time it was connected, but not the last time.

Not appropriate as a backup drive

Bought this drive as local backup but MS Backup fails everytime complaining of sector or related errors. Formatted the drive to try to clear the problem but still no go. Will probably have to return and try another drive.

Small, quiet (many are not!), sleek device with a large capacity. Let's face it, all these things fail eventually. Irreplaceable files need to be stored on more than one device. This one is no bigger than my first, which only held 500MB.

Works fine with Linux

I purchased the drive to back-up my Linux server. Despite the specification saying only Windows and MAC support, I found on the Seagate website that although not officially supported by Seagate for Linux use, they say their drives should work and indeed I am pleased to say this one works fine.

No Problem External Hard Drive

Would not connect through external USB hub, had to plug directly into my iMac. Pictures in "manual" show it plugging into back of computer, but no written instructions saying it had to be connected directly to port in computer.

Attractive Design; Compact; Easy to use; High Capacity
