The only way I can fault the barracuda is noise levels, when you're booting something up on this drive the moving mechanical parts will create noise. Maybe more so than it's rivals, but the great thing is, it is an affordable 7200 RPM HDD that is reliable.

I don't think I'd buy a refurb to use as a primary but it's working fine as B/U.

Installed in a few minutes, partitioned, formatted and backed up my system SSD to it; Do the back up once a week and it works like a charm; Granted I don't use it as a primary but I took that into consideration when I purchased it.; Guess I'm just lucky based on the other 2 folks

Not wanting to throw away my old Mac Power PC I was looking for a cheap drive to keep it running. This worked great. After reformatting and instaling operational softwre my Power PC runs like a champ.

I bought 5 of these about a year and a half ago befor the hhd market went crazy. Got them for 40$ a peice on sale. 1 was doa but the other 4 have run flawlessly. I have 3 in raid0 and the other one by its self in another build.Great price for the performace at the time i bought.

I replaced a 250GB on a older PC and installed Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit and nice and quiet !! No errors at install, not that I ever see any with new drives but Seagate is what I think Top 5 hard drives?

This HD is being used for one of my servers and works just great as it should.

I got this drive with a bare bones bundle deal. It's not a high performance system. I installed this drive and it's working just fine. Up time so far is about 2 weeks. :) Performance seems quite good.

I got four of these disks for a RAID 10 array. My PC had an on-board controller with the Intel chip-set, so I tried out RAID 5 and RAID 10. RAID 10 worked a treat. Very fast read/write speeds whereas RAID 5 had dreadful write speed due to the on-board controller.
