This a great portable hd camera. Easy to use, good functionality. I can run videos easy and take pictures on the fly. Great product, easy transition of downloading your data to pc or connect thru HDMI & stream your videos & pics on an HD TV. Great for capturing the moments in life.

Good product for family to own and use.

Easy to use and handle. My family used this one for making family HD-Movie and they are reliable, except that we need another pack of battery. Taking pictures are also in good quality, easy to switch between picture and video. A good value for money.

Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1000 review

Not only does Sanyo's new HD1000 record true 1920 x 1080i HD video to high capacity SD cards but it offers a host of features that other manufacturers seem intent on dropping. Even Panasonic's SD5 AVCHD camera has ditched features such as a microphone input and headphone output that made the...

Sanyo VPC-HD1000

Sanyo's high-end HD1000 has the same basic layout as the HD700, but is bulkier and significantly heavier due to its larger lens. The camcorder is also more cluttered with controls and buttons - clearly the enthusiast, rather than occasional user, is firmly in mind here.

Sanyo Xacti HD1000 Review

Every new Xacti camera from Sanyo shows significant improvements over the last, and the HD1000 follow suit. The HD1000, which records exclusively to SDHC cards, is hands-down the best device in the line.

Sanyo HD1000 review

Never have we willed a camcorder to succeed quite like Sanyo's HD1000. From the all-black finish to the outsized metal lens barrel, it packs more features into its tiny pistol-grip body than camcorders twice the size.

HD Quality / Chip Based! (solid state)

To playback HD 1080i Quality Mp4s on a high end pc - use CoreAVC Pro Codec. It took some researching newsgroups to discover this detail! - Use Lock/Auto-Manual Focus mode, use 720p mode.

Outstanding VIDEO At 720p resolution. 1080i playback is smooth on my Intel Quad Extreme; Uses compressed mp4, Focusing is weak; I use Semi-Manual Focus for outstanding results. NOT for a beginner.. Get a Canon HG10 if you are looking to go High Def.

You need a very high end PC to Play back 1080i .mp4s I always use and recommend to use 720p MODE which does 60 Frames per second unlike 1080i which is 60 FIELDS (aka 30 FPS) .; Unless you use the included Editor, the FOOTAGE does not work with: AVID LIQUID 7, Adobe Prem., Pinnacle Studio, etc..

What makes a camcorder perfect? Ideally, a model should come equipped with a host of useful additional features; including impressive still image capabilities and extensive manual adjustments. It should look sleek and attractive, be easy to handle, and preferably have a snappy sounding name.

Sleek and eye-catching design; user-friendly interface; above average stills capabilities

Outperformed by other HD units on the market

Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1000

This one-handed wonder is perfect for catching the exploits of adrenaline junkies, but is the Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1000 camcorder

Fitting snugly into one hand, the HD1000 can record either 4-megapixel still photos or HD (1080) video onto the same SDHC memory card; Shutter buttons, zoom and menu controls fall neatly under one thumb, and the light (270g) chassis nonetheless manages to accommodate a 10x lens and (rather murky)...

Colours are muted, details are weak and the focus occasionally misses its mark, resulting in footage that doesn't stand up well on a big TV; In order to use the HDMI connection, you have to carry around the Sanyo's docking cradle, and the electronic image stabilisation is basically useless

Sanyo VPC-HD1000

As the relatively new saying goes, ‘cameras don't do video as well as camcorders, and vice versa'. There have been numerous attempts to meld the two together since SD became a viable format for decent quality video, but most have fallen into one or the other camp, neglecting the ot
