The Samsung U28E590D is one of those big-screen (28-inch) Ultra-High Definition monitor that can be had affordably, and like the ASUS MG28UQ and ViewSonic XG2700-4K , it delivers a sharp, clearly-detailed 4K image. At PC Verge, we've tested a number of monitors, and this particular…
Highly detailed UHD images; Fast pixel response; Good gray-scale performance
Viewing angles would be better; Lean feature set; Lacks USB ports
This was a nice buy at 550$ 4k is great but you can also downgraded your gaming to 1440p if your system can't push 4k gaming. Looks nice and colors are nice.
slim design - 4k @ 60hrz on DP - Versa wall mountable - No dead or frozen pixels
Bit pricey - Wish the stand was a bit more solid
I mainly bought this for film-making, but it's amazing to game with.
We are using this screen for presentations at customers homes. It is a perfect size and the quality of the picture is fantastic.
for the price its a very good monitor for things like movies gaming etc
using creative applications such as photoshop was a nightmare; there are known issues using a screen size this small in comparison to the very high resolution..; the user interfaces are tiny; so my advice is, if you want to use a 4K monitor for work make sure you get atleast a 32" screen size.
I purchased the Samsung LU28E590DS/XY 28" UHD Monitor and set it up for a customer with a Windows Surface Pro. The setup was so easy and the results were so good I even bought another one for myself. So far I am totally pleased with my purchase that I would recommend it to anyone else.
Just plugged this monitor in and WOW. The Xbox X looks amazing. Tried Forza 7 and Wow, no adjust to colour yet and very nice colour out of the box. Was going to get the AOC monitor but in reviews this one was slightly better colour, viewing angles and an eyesaver feature. Plugged it into HDMI port 2 and picked up 4k stright away. You need to plug it into the HDMI 2 port to get 60hrz else if you plug it into port 1 will be only 30hrz. Just thought to mention this to any other buyers. This monitor is highly recommended for Xbox X and PS Pro. Great for a budget monitor and reviews out ot slightly better than the other listed AOC monitor. The only drawback is only has 2 HDMI and 1 Display port, plus headphone jack as no speakers. If using this for xbox or ps only, then this is not an issue. You can also wall mount this or a better stand. Rather than buttons has a joystick to adjust settings or turn it on and off and another reason I got this over the AOC as the buttons on that are poor according to reviews, were tge joystick on the Samsung works better.
It's a good monitor, but I had some complications setting it up. Hooking up my laptop via DisplayPort, fine, I got 4K. I plugged a Chromecast Ultra into one of the HDMI ports, and got 4K on that, too. Then I plugged an Apple TV 4K into the other HDMI port, and it only got 1440p.
I bought this for my son's birthday and it was perfect does as it says on the tin !
