The Samsung SyncMaster S27A850D is a well-designed, stylish, professional monitor with great options and performance. For those of us without disposable incomes, spending more than a couple hundred dollars on a monitor requires a little justification. When it comes to expensive monitors, there's usually a professional justification, as professional graphics artists require precise image clarity. The S27A850D is decently priced for a professional monitor of its size, but does it offer enough in performance and features to really make for a good investment? Keep reading to find out.

Awesome colors/contrast with a huge resolution!
Great monitor for graphics artists and gamers! Still out on the video playback though.
Pros:
- LED producing awesome colors & contrast
- High Resolution of 2560x1440
- Display Port connection
- USB 3.0 Hub
Cons:
- Certain HD videos have a filmy grain to them
- Haven't tried to correct it yet, but that's all I got for now

I own two of these monitors. I just recently bought a second
Using two of these monitors in a dual setup. These PLS screens have excellent quality. They have almost every feature desired in a high end monitor of the IPS/PLS class. The only thing lacking is 10 bit color.

Samsung S27A850D
IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology has remained relatively unchallenged at the ‘high end' of the monitor market and has also penetrated into slightly lower-end consumer models in the form of ‘E-IPS'.
Pros:
- Colours are rich
- deep and varied with good consistency
- Excellent high-end brightness
- good luminance range and quite pleasing white purity
- Low haze screen surface handles glare well without profoundly upsetting colour vibrancy or image clarity and is probably the best ‘compromise' we've seen...
Cons:
- Some colours appear too deep and oversaturated
- No hardware-based support for 2.2 gamma standard and a high luminance required to prevent many colours becoming ‘lifeless
- A light haze and mild diffusion leads to slightly inferior clarity and vibrancy compared to a glossy screen surface – you can't...

Simply amazing....
I bought this monitor to replace a Dell U2711 which I had to return due to its horrible horrible anti glare coating. this monitor is amazing, its super clear and there is no problem with the anti glare. It gives a high resolution performance is brilliant. If you are thinking about buying it, do it!

Favorite Monitor
This is by far the best monitor I've ever seen. Great resolution, great vibrant colors, awesome brightness, thin, light weight, wall mountable. I absolutely love this monitor! Samsung is the absolute best display manufacturer by far.

Samsung LCD HDTV
This Television is great. The picture on it is spectacular and the sound is amazing. I love watching this television. Everything on it comes in really really clear. I love to watch this and I watch television more often now. I have never had any problems with the television at all.

not suitable for graphics work
I really want to love this monitor. I do a lot of graphic design work and I've used at least half a dozen different lcd screens in the past 10 years personally and professionally, with most being of much cheaper cost and brand, but out of them all, I have to say that the lighting on this screen is...
Pros:
- While I was assembling the monitor, I was very impressed by the design, weight and feel of the unit
- It also has a desirable subtle anti-glare coating that is very smooth and nice
Cons:
- Intense back light bleeding in the bottom right corner that takes up 1/6 of the screen and distorts the dark range to a brown or bluish tint depending on your viewing angle
- More back light bleeding on the bottom center and top right corner that is half intense, but just seems to double annoying...
