The Samsung Gear S was the Korean giant's flagship 2104 smartwatch that, unlike the latest Sony and Asus efforts, shuns Google's Android Wear OS in favour of its own platform: Tizen.

I had this watch for a week and so far I am very pleased with its features. I do think not having a camera is a low but besides that, all other functions are great. I only hope more useful apps get develop in the near future.

No camera

Revealed in Malaysia just today, the Samsung Gear S smartwatch is the first Samsung smartwatch that has stand-alone 3G connectivity. Retailing at RM1099 the smartwatch is due in November 2014. A little time with the smartwatch reveals tech specs that include both Bluetooth and WiFi support.

This is definitely an upgrade from the first Galaxy Gear watch. The only thing I missed at first was it did not have a camera. But I'm over it now. The S voice works much better. The speaker is very clear and texting is a breeze on the mini keyboard. Much more stylish than the original Galaxy Gear.

Very happy with samsung gear s watch

Well for me it's the number one intelligent watch. Not perfect but on its way ... very light to weare and after a month I am very happy with it. The price is right compare to apple and the look is simply outstanding.

The Gear S isn't very comfortable and definitely not a smartwatch for everyone but the device still has a few perks.
