Samsung Galaxy Watch 42mm SM-R810

This Galaxy watch from Samsung is a mix of style, functionality and toughness which sees it compare more than favourably against similar devices on the market.

Wear it your way

The Galaxy watch lets you express your style, with three band colours and plenty of customisable faces to choose from. The smart design extends to the rotating bezel and easy-to-read sAMOLED circular screen.

A super-charged charge

Depending on usage, you can get two to three days of calls, notifications, music and more out of your watch from a single charge. Not only does the battery offer longer life, it is also ridiculously easy to charge thanks to the wireless charging dock.

Take your music with you

Download your favourite playlist, grab your wireless earbuds, and take your music with you wherever you go.

A watch for all-round active people

The Galaxy Watch can track up to 39 different exercises, so you can chart your progress and reach your goals across a wide range of activities. You can monitor your heart rate, manage your health statistics, nutritional goals and calorie-burn. The watch also syncs easily to Samsung Health across all your devices.

While you're sleeping

Sleep quality is also tracked by the Galaxy Watch, which creates a log that includes four stages of sleep. Your stress levels can also be monitored, with assistance offered in the form of guided breathing should you need to chill out.

When the going gets tough

Any watch for active people needs to be able to stand up to tough conditions. This Galaxy Watch can take whatever you throw at it thanks to its 5 ATM* water resistance and military standard durability.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Review

The Samsung Galaxy Watch wants to fix what's always been a sticking point for smartwatches: battery life. Promising five days of power, the Tizen-based Galaxy Watch also offers fitness and sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, and intelligent notifications with Bixby integration. It's expensive at $329.99, and adding LTE connectivity only drives the price up higher. And while it offers activity tracking, its results aren't on par with dedicated fitness trackers or even hybrid models like the Fitbit Versa. Still, it's one of the better alternatives out there to the Apple Watch. Sharp Looks on a Round Face The Galaxy Watch ($189.00 at Walmart) isn't that different from the Gear S3 in terms of physical appearance. Available in 42mm and 46mm sizes, it looks stylish on the wrist, with a more professional look than the sporty design you get with many fitness-oriented wearables, including the Gear Sport. Both sizes have a circular rotating bezel around a crisp 1.2- or 1.3-inch (42mm or...

The attractive Samsung Galaxy Watch has better battery life and is easier to use than most smartwatches, but its fitness tracking features aren't up to par.

Lasts up to five days on a single charge; Crisp AMOLED screen; Rotating bezel; Accurate heart rate monitor; Resistant to dust and water

Expensive; 46mm version is chunky; Fitness tracking accuracy not up to par in testing

This Galaxy black 42mm watch is replacing my Gear S2 watch, which I had for about 3 years and is still working great (I gave it to my son, as new condition). I purchased the Galaxy watch because it is waterproof and allows Samsung Pay from the watch.

I purchased the Galaxy Watch as I switched from an iPhone to the Galaxy Note 9. Pros: Awesome battery performance The ability to keep the watch screen on Huge selection of watch faces (and many are free) Good value at only $499 NZ dollars Cons: Watch looks are average (my opinion) Bixby on the watch...

Samsung Galaxy Watch (42mm) Review

Samsung's lineup of Gear smartwatches has always been my favourite, ever since I reviewed the Gear S3 Frontier. It has since become my go-to smartwatch but this year, Samsung attempted to do something different by rebranding their smartwatch as the Galaxy Watch .

Great display; Battery lasts 2 days or more; Two sizes are a welcome addition; Interchangeable bands; Tizen works well as a smartwatch OS; Solid performance

Bixby is still useless; No MST for Samsung Pay (but there is NFC; Small incremental changes over past watches

Samsung Galaxy Watch review: Tantalized by Tizen

The Samsung Galaxy Watch continues the tradition set by its predecessors: it's a well-made, easy to use, durable and attractive smartwatch. Tizen has its lures, but is app limited, however, which is the watch's main shortcoming.

Attractive design; Solid stainless steel case; Rotating bezel is brilliant; Tizen OS's user interface is user friendly; Great battery life;

Tizen OS lacking in apps; Software looks/feels the same as it has for some time; Notifications load slowly; 42mm limited battery;
