Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5

The Samsung Galaxy S5 was a significant step past the S4, but the step was subtle: It was in the screen and the software. The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 ($499, 16GB) pours the S5 equation into the best Android media tablet we've seen so far. It's slim, well-designed, and beautiful.

Slim and light; Amazing screen

Wi-Fi and GPU performance not quite up to the competition

Mostly great tablet with a few things that could improve

After destroying my laptop with a cup of water in the spring I have been debating on the decision to buy a tablet or to buy a new laptop. Given the price of this tablet I could have easily bought a core i-5 laptop with much more memory and a huge hard drive and video capability.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Review

Thanks in part to Samsung's own success with big-screen phones, tablets have begun to lose their luster. The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 literally brings it back with a display so vibrant and colorful that it promises to make the iPad look dull.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5

THE SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB S has one thing in its sights: Apple's iPad Air . Samsung hasn't had much success in the tablet market, but it is looking to change that with the Galaxy Tab S, which it boasts is "slimmer and lighter" than Apple's flagship tablet and has a higher-resolution display.

High-end design; great screen; smooth performance; excellent battery life; microSD card slot

Magazine UX user interface is overbearing; Magazine UX is mandatory

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Review

Samsung seems on a mission to bring a serious rival to Apple's iPad and here it tries again with the Galaxy Tab S 10.5. We've already put the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 through its paces and have suggested that it's a worthy alternative to the iPad mini .

High-res display; Impressive battery life; Good-looking; slim and light

Oversaturation on display; Disappointing Android tablet apps; Not everyone will like bronze version

Has Samsung ruined its best tablet with its TouchWiz software?

Samsung's flagship tablet leads the market with a stunning display and adds an innovative finger scanner to the everyday slate. Almost everything about the Tab S is perfect. Almost.

Thin and light; Top-notch hardware; Market leading screen; Finger scanner

Samsung's TouchWiz overlay

"An Excellent Tablet For Daily Use"

After over a year of using my poor Nokia Lumia 520 for everything from checking emails to 5+ hours of YouTube video viewing, I decided last year that I needed to buy something else to take up the slack and give me better performance and usability!

Weight; feel; efficiency; durability; display; camera

Overall performance is pretty good, does well in gaming too plus the battery life and camera output is decent enough. The 10.5 inch is best suited for entertainment and productive works whereas the 8.4 offers more portability. Finger print scanner is another added feature.
