Samsung Galaxy Tab S review

Samsung has aimed high with the Tab S, and met its target: this pair of premium tablets are serious competition for Apple's iPad, thanks to a gorgeous screen, some serious horsepower and impressive battery life.

A premium-priced tablet with an eye-popping display, the Tablet S delivers the most innovation we've seen in several tablet generations. It's the best full-size Android slate to date.

Gorgeous; roomy AMOLED display; Ultra-light for its size class; Nearly chart-topping battery life

Speakers sound tinny and distorted at maximum volume; Smooth back panel lacks tactile grip; Soft navigation buttons flanking home button are oversensitive; No support for NFC

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 review

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is one of the firm's best ever tablets with a thin and light design, although there is still too much plastic. Hardware is decent, namely that impressive display and great battery life making this a consumption machine. It's got pretty much everything you could want on a tablet, and it is priced competitively against its key rivals earning it a recommended award.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Tablet Review

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is without any doubts an excellent piece of technology . Performance however, shows slight flaws. The Exynos Processor cannot entirely keep up with the current Qualcomm rockets. Graphics performance also falls slightly behind an Adreno 330 .

excellent display, slim and lightweight design, many interfaces, memory can be upgraded, LTE, allows for calls, decent camera with LED flash, good battery life, The Super-AMOLED display is awesome; A full Adobe RGB coverage and a high color precision make the device also suitable for creative jobs

poor speakers; only USB 2.0; no S-pen; no IP certification; modest microphone

Samsung Galaxy Tab S review: slim design, long battery life, stunning screen

With a gorgeous screen, super-thin design and long battery life, the Galaxy Tab S earns its place as one of our favorite tablets.

Stunning screen; Long battery life; Thin and light; Some useful software additions; like free magazines

Some minor performance hiccups (on the WiFi-only models; anyway; Samsung's "Magazine UX" interface still feels overbearing; Finicky fingerprint scanner; "Simple Clickers" make it cumbersome to use Samsung's optional cases

The Tab S 16GB/Wi-Fi model reviewed here is available at a price tag of AED 1,699, but if you opt for the 3G version you will have churn out AED 2,099. The Tab S is also available in 10.1-inch version for AED 2099 (Wi-Fi only) and AED 2599 (3G).

+ Slim; Light-weight & Stylish Design; + Incredible Battery Life; + Amazing Display

- Missing NFC Connectivity; - Speakers could be better

Review: Samsung Galaxy Tab?S 10.5

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S 10.5 draws the eye right away with a stunning 10.5in, 2,560 x 1,600-resolution Super AMOLED screen. Apart from its sibling, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, it's the only tablet on the market to feature such a panel, and its sheer vibrance stops you dead in your tracks.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has stupendous hardware, but it narrowly lags behind the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet as our Android tablet of choice.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Review

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S 10.5 sports a stunning Super AMOLED screen, a fingerprint reader, and top-notch specs. If you want the best Android slate, it should be near the top of your list.

Stunning Super AMOLED screen; Fingerprint scanner; Thinner and lighter than the iPad Air; MicoSD expansion slot; 3GB of RAM

Screen feels almost too bright and vivid; No black model available; Isn't dust/water-resistant like GS5; Fingerprint Scanner isn't ideal for tablet use; Sony's Xperia Z2 tablet is a little thinner and lighter

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Tablet

With an RRP identical to that of the 16GB iPad Air at £399 you certainly get a lot for your money with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Even more so with a bit of shopping around which will find deals hovering around the £350 mark.

Stunning Super AMOLED Display; High Specification; Great features; Excellent battery life; Modern and intuitive UI; Very thin and light

Awful speakers; Zero HD streaming content; Poor out of the box connectivity
