Review: Samsung Galaxy Tab?S 10.5

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S 10.5 draws the eye right away with a stunning 10.5in, 2,560 x 1,600-resolution Super AMOLED screen. Apart from its sibling, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, it's the only tablet on the market to feature such a panel, and its sheer vibrance stops you dead in your tracks.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5

When the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 landed on the TechSmart review table, its dimpled plastic back cover brought back not so fond memories of the South Korean manufacturer's S5 (review) flagship.

Brilliant Display; Great battery life; Fantastic for web browsing and media viewing

Bezel can make handling difficult; Power and volume buttons oddly placed

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Review

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 review! Can Samsung's large number of tablets move out of the way for this "flagship" tablet? The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 packs in a lot of the same specs from the Tab Pro that was announced at CES, but it manages to pack it all into a thin 6.6mm profile.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 review

Samsung has not been shy of launching new tablets in recent years, with different lines, sizes and specs meaning there's a Tab for just about anyone, no matter what your predilection.

Great design; plenty of power; useful software additions; vibrant display; fingerprint scanner

Some content can look a little over saturated; sound quality not the best; limited bezel

The Samsung Galaxy S 10.5 even delivers well on battery life, with very good performance. This might just be the best Android tablet around at the moment.

Overall performance is pretty good, does well in gaming too plus the battery life and camera output is decent enough. The 10.5 inch is best suited for entertainment and productive works whereas the 8.4 offers more portability. Finger print scanner is another added feature.

Outstanding product

Bought this to replace my aging home computer. Meets all my needs for Web browsing, email, social and media. Also runs a great a ms office suite of products. Bought it with Samsung keyboard case - perfection! Couldn't be happier with this product.

App Availablity; Battery Life; Easy To Customize; Home Computer Replacement; Operating System; Screen; Web Browsing; WiFi

Actually, there is no shortage of Samsung tablets with a 10" display. The middle class is covered by the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1; more demanding users can fall back on the Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 or the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition with pen operation.

brilliant and high-resolution Super AMOLED display; extremely thin and light; but not fragile; good performance; current Android version with some useful Samsung apps; microSD card reader; infrared; access security using fingerprint sensor; LTE (optional

no microHDMI; GPU performance not as outstanding as CPU performance

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Tablet

With an RRP identical to that of the 16GB iPad Air at £399 you certainly get a lot for your money with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Even more so with a bit of shopping around which will find deals hovering around the £350 mark.

Stunning Super AMOLED Display; High Specification; Great features; Excellent battery life; Modern and intuitive UI; Very thin and light

Awful speakers; Zero HD streaming content; Poor out of the box connectivity

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Tablet Review

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is without any doubts an excellent piece of technology . Performance however, shows slight flaws. The Exynos Processor cannot entirely keep up with the current Qualcomm rockets. Graphics performance also falls slightly behind an Adreno 330 .

excellent display, slim and lightweight design, many interfaces, memory can be upgraded, LTE, allows for calls, decent camera with LED flash, good battery life, The Super-AMOLED display is awesome; A full Adobe RGB coverage and a high color precision make the device also suitable for creative jobs

poor speakers; only USB 2.0; no S-pen; no IP certification; modest microphone
