Samsung Galaxy S8 review

In the cat and mouse game between Samsung and Apple, the user is the real winner, and never has that been so apparent as with the new Samsung Galaxy S8. Undoubtedly the most eagerly-anticipated Android smartphone of 2017, the Galaxy S8 is Samsung’s first big opportunity to put the Note 7 battery...

Beautiful design, Curved Super AMOLED screen looks and works great, Fast and lag-free, Camera is among the best

Fingerprint sensor is awkwardly placed, No dual-camera optical zoom, Bixby Voice isn't available at launch

Samsung Galaxy S8 review

Smaller and fine-spun. Samsung's successor of the successful Galaxy S7 immediately catches the eye with its new design language: narrower edges and more screen. The Galaxy S8 is also a slightly more balanced product than its sister model, and its price is even lower.

excellent screen, stylish design, fast SoC, very good GPS qualities, fast Wi-Fi, Gigabit LTE, decent call quality, solid sensor configuration, USB 3.1 with DP, HDMI, and OTG, good battery life, quick-charge and wireless charging, water and dust-resistant, very good camera,...

...though not much better than in the predecessor, no dual-SIM, fingerprint scanner hard to find via touch, SoC throttling during permanent load, warranty does not cover damage due to liquids

Samsung Galaxy S8 review

To determine how the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ compare to other smartphones phones, with respect to battery life, we ran the devices through two battery benchmarks you can find on the Google Play store -- AnTuTu Tester's Battery benchmark and PCMark for Android's Work 2.0 Battery Life test.

Gorgeous, near-bezelless design, Beautiful, wide-aspect AMOLED displays, Fastest Android phones on market, Excellent camera performance, Impressive battery life, Super-premium design

Pricey, Maybe a little too slippery for some, Black units are smudge magnets

Samsung Galaxy S8 review

The Galaxy S8 marks a big change for Samsung—the company has finally updated its phone design. The Galaxy S7, with its hardware buttons and giant front SAMSUNG logo, was a design that had been frozen in time for four or five years. It seemed very dated.

A slim-bezel design finally brings a more modern design to the Galaxy line., On-screen buttons allow for smaller bezels, bigger screens, and a customizable (and correctable) button order., Samsung's always-on hard-press home button is an awesome and innovative feature.

The gimmicks. The iris scanner, curved screen, and heart rate sensor all seem designed to give talking points to your local Verizon salesperson, rather than provide a good user experience for customers., The glass back is fragile and a fingerprint magnet., Touchwiz is still a janky lag-fest.

Samsung Galaxy S8 review

Samsung did very well with the Galaxy S8, and just as well. After the disaster that happened with the Note 7, another huge mistake would be catastrophic for the company. So, Samsung played it safe under the spotlight by continuing the evolution of the S series' design by making one of the most...

Samsung Galaxy S8 review

Offering innovative design, impressive performance and one of the most powerful cameras yet mounted on a smartphone, the S8 shows that Samsung is still at the top of their game. If cash is no object, this is one of the best phones that you can currently buy.

Exquisite design, amazing curved display, blazing fast performance, one of the best rear cameras ever made

Bixby not fully implemented as yet, not cheap, Bixby button not reconfigurable

Samsung Galaxy S8 review

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are here, bringing with them a new taller display in a body that's smaller than ever before but should you buy them?...

Incredible & comfortable design, Outstanding Super AMOLED display, Fast performance, Good all-round camera, Bixby Voice Assistant has potential, Best in class in-box headphones, Acceptable battery life, Front-facing camera has autofocus, Plenty of customization options

Odd fingerprint sensor location, Bixby is limited and needs work, No major improvements to the camera, Iris recognition is hit and miss, Bottom-firing speaker is average at best

Samsung Galaxy S8 review

I’m guessing that almost every review of the Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ starts out with some mention of last year’s recall of the Note 7 due to battery issues that led to the spontaneous combustion of some phones. You would think that all that drama and bad press would have hurt Samsung’s reputation.

Samsung Galaxy S8 review

The Samsung 2017 flagship, compact edition. Can the Galaxy S8 make even the die-hard fans of the big-screen experience consider converting? Think about it - you get so much screen in a phone that's practically as wide as a iPhone 7.
