Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930F 32GB

Samsung Galaxy S7 is the new flagship smartphone from Samsung. It was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February 2016 and offers improvements over older models across the board in terms of speed, battery life, design, durability and camera performance. Critics think that this is one of the best Android phones ever produced. Samsung's aims with the S7 are obvious. It needs to revive relative poor Galaxy S6 sales and to successfully compete with the iPhone 6S and future iPhone models.

The Galaxy S7 design features a curved glass back, which means that holding it feels comfortably. Moreover, the height of the protruding camera lens on the back has been reduced to less than 0.5 mm so the surface becomes flatter.

The technical specs are impressive as one has come to expect of Galaxy phones. The S7 is powered by a blazing fast 2.15 GHz quad-cord Snapdragon processor improving processing speeds by 30% and graphics performance by an astounding 64% compared to Galaxy S6. Speed isn't the only thing that counts from a user perspective if the RAM memory isn't sufficient. Prospective S7 buyers need not to worry, since the phone comes with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. There's also 32 GB of storage available.

The camera has f1.7 aperture and captures 25% more light than the S6 model. The 1.4 micron pixels offers improved brightness and clarity. The auto-focus has also undergone substantial enhancements by adopting dual photodiode pixel auto-focus, a technology used by DSLR cameras that means significantly faster auto-focus. In non-technical jargon: S7's camera snaps higher quality photos faster.

Galaxy S7 runs on the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 operating system, which means that it can take advantage of latest app features that developers around the globe are working on.

Samsung has demonstrated that it listens to its users and have brought back some popular features that the S6 models had dropped. Waterproofing and support for microSD card are features that appeal to Samsung users and both have been reintroduced with the S7 model.

The battery charging is fast and 50% charging is accomplished in only 30 minutes (wired charging). A new feature is the always-on display. Basic information like time, calendar and notifications are displayed in a power-saving mode. Hence, gleaning at the phone to check the time doesn't require a fully-illuminated screen.

Samsung Galaxy S7

The Samsung Galaxy S7 launched in the UK on 11th March. Building on the Galaxy S6, the S7 features an all-metal water-resistant design with a 5.1 inch Quad HD display. It uses Samsung's new super-fast 8-core Exynos 8 processor, and includes a microSD card slot, allowing the memory to be expanded to...

Samsung Galaxy S7 review: back to the good ol' times

Samsung has done a good job of addressing concerns users had with the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S7 features an increased battery size, improved performance and the return of water and dust resistance, along with the much beloved MicroSD card slot.

Strong performance for everyday tasks and gaming; Excellent display; Speed and quality of cameras; Water resistant

Incomplete microSD card support

Samsung Galaxy S7

To use a tired cliche, Samsung has had a year of two halves. After the release of both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge , things were looking strong. It had a phone that was better than the HTC 10 , better than the Huawei P9 and it's still better than the iPhone 7 .

Stunning looks; Great camera experience; microSD slot and IP68 water resistance; Glorious display

Fingerprint magnet; TouchWiz still has some quirks; Poor speakers

Samsung Galaxy S7 review: The unsung hero?

Samsung's dual-flagship strategy is now in full force, with the launch of both a regular Samsung Galaxy S7 and a larger SGS7 edge model. The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is very much the headline hog, with its dual curved edges and larger display it's the hero handset.

Great camera experience; good battery performance; microSD slot; refined design and build (with waterproofing

TouchWiz is over the top; prone to fingerprint smears; will always sit in the shadow of the SGS7 edge

Samsung Galaxy S7 review: not as sexy as the Edge but still a bloody good smartphone

Just like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, we really love the S7. It's premium waterproof build, outstanding camera, great battery life and class-leading specs make this the best Android smartphone you can get right now.

Premium glass and metal design; Vivid screen; Outstanding camera

It's not the S7 Edge; Fingerprints everywhere

Samsung Galaxy S7 in-depth review - A Class Act

Exynos or Snapdragon, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is a solid handset. 5-star looks, processor, camera and in a size that is best for one-handed use during your commute. The water-proof feature that we last saw on the Galaxy S5 is back and so are the stars on my verdict.

Beautiful display; perfect size; very good camera; expandable storage; IP 68 rating; Solid processor; Strikingly good-looking; USB OTG optimised

Fingerprint sensor prone to misfires; Adoptive storage does not work; Always-on display irritating

Samsung Galaxy S7 review

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is a stellar phone. It's a handset that packs great battery smarts, excellent camera abilities and loads of raw power into an increasingly affordable package.

Samsung Galaxy S7 review: Still the best phone you can buy

The Samsung Galaxy S6 was the best phone of 2015 and, although it's still early days, the Galaxy S7 is a serious contender for best phone of 2016. Samsung has taken into account what its fans want, addressing the three main areas of concern: removable storage, waterproofing and battery life.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Review

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is brilliant overall, a real contender for the top spot in the current market. I really love the fact that it is waterproof, the battery life is greater than before, and that expandable memory has returned. Quite simply, I think this phone is pretty much perfect.

Waterproof; Expandable memory returns; Brilliant design and screen; Functions perfectly

Expensive; Only two colour options; Only 32Gb version available; Similar to S6
