Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930F 32GB

Samsung Galaxy S7 is the new flagship smartphone from Samsung. It was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February 2016 and offers improvements over older models across the board in terms of speed, battery life, design, durability and camera performance. Critics think that this is one of the best Android phones ever produced. Samsung's aims with the S7 are obvious. It needs to revive relative poor Galaxy S6 sales and to successfully compete with the iPhone 6S and future iPhone models.

The Galaxy S7 design features a curved glass back, which means that holding it feels comfortably. Moreover, the height of the protruding camera lens on the back has been reduced to less than 0.5 mm so the surface becomes flatter.

The technical specs are impressive as one has come to expect of Galaxy phones. The S7 is powered by a blazing fast 2.15 GHz quad-cord Snapdragon processor improving processing speeds by 30% and graphics performance by an astounding 64% compared to Galaxy S6. Speed isn't the only thing that counts from a user perspective if the RAM memory isn't sufficient. Prospective S7 buyers need not to worry, since the phone comes with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. There's also 32 GB of storage available.

The camera has f1.7 aperture and captures 25% more light than the S6 model. The 1.4 micron pixels offers improved brightness and clarity. The auto-focus has also undergone substantial enhancements by adopting dual photodiode pixel auto-focus, a technology used by DSLR cameras that means significantly faster auto-focus. In non-technical jargon: S7's camera snaps higher quality photos faster.

Galaxy S7 runs on the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 operating system, which means that it can take advantage of latest app features that developers around the globe are working on.

Samsung has demonstrated that it listens to its users and have brought back some popular features that the S6 models had dropped. Waterproofing and support for microSD card are features that appeal to Samsung users and both have been reintroduced with the S7 model.

The battery charging is fast and 50% charging is accomplished in only 30 minutes (wired charging). A new feature is the always-on display. Basic information like time, calendar and notifications are displayed in a power-saving mode. Hence, gleaning at the phone to check the time doesn't require a fully-illuminated screen.

Faster charging than the one replacing. It was first gen running android 5.1 phone. Quick update of apps even large ones. Pin to get one draw out for as card and sin.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Smartphone Review

While the Samsung Galaxy S6 with its new metal chassis was a revolution for Samsung's flagship device, the new Galaxy S7 is more of an evolution. Samsung respects the customer's wishes and brings back some features like the memory expansion as well as the IP68 certification for the case against...

very sophisticated chassis with excellent build quality and stability; very good performance; great display; expandable storage; IP68 certification; good camera; accurate GPS module

TouchWiz does not use all features of Android 6.0; slippery rear cover; slight throttling under load; only micro-USB 2.0; no USB-C; no MHL; no DisplayPort; infrared transmitter was waived; PWM; high price

Samsung Galaxy S7 Review

Samsung's Galaxy S7 is the standard-bearer for Android phones in 2016.

Gorgeous; waterproof; design; Better battery life than Galaxy S6; Camera shoots better in low light; focuses faster; Micro SD card slot; Powerful Snapdragon 820 processor

Carrier locked with carrier bloatware; All-glass design is fingerprint magnet; Prone to glass cracking; expensive to repair

While the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge were very much about revolutionising Samsung's smartphone portfolio, the company has instead set about refining the experience this year. Did it achieve this? Most definitely.

- Perfected design; IP68 protection; Great display; Excellent battery life; Reliable fingerprint sensor; Stellar performance; Improved software experience; Impressive low light camera; Excellent connectivity and hardware options; Expandable storage makes a return

- Below average speaker; Aggressive display brightness requires managing; Camera has increased noise reduction; Glass build is a fingerprint magnet

In 2015, Samsung finally took design seriously. By doing so, they created a line-up of Galaxy S and Note phones that featured metal frames and glass panels with jewel-like appearances, on top of next-level specs. The S6 series, along with the Note 5, were nothing short of amazing.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Review: The ultimate iPhone killer

Step aside Apple, your days of being the iterative smartphone update king are over. The Samsung Galaxy S7 might seem like a small step up on the already brilliant Galaxy S6 , but every small change has gone a long way to transforming this into the ultimate iPhone 6S killer and arguably the best...

Stunning AMOLED display; Brilliant camera in all conditions; Newly waterproofed body

Expensive; It's a fingerprint magnet; Not as enticing as the S7 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S7 review: The phone to beat in 2016

The Galaxy S7 isn't perfect, but I think Samsung has gotten closer to perfection than anyone else. There are very few things to complain about here, and most of those complaints are only going to bother a very small portion of potential buyers, like folks that need a removable battery.
