Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge review: this is the smartphone to beat

Latest high-end Android phone raises bar for screen, camera and speed, while bringing back such fan favourites as waterproofing, expandable storage and decent battery life

a phablet that is as easy to use as a 5in phone; fast; great screen; long battery; fast and wireless charging; brilliant camera; microSD card slot; waterproof; good fingerprint sensor

battery isn't removable; microSD card isn't used as adopted storage; won't get software updates as fast as Nexus devices; expensive

While the Galaxy S6 Edge was about reinventing and reinvigorating Samsung's design language, the Galaxy S7 Edge's story is far more modest, as Samsung has instead opted to merely refine and evolve what it believes is a winning formula. Mission thoroughly accomplished.

- Premium metal/glass build - Comfortable to hold - Sharp; vibrant screen - microSD returns - Wireless charging - Water/dust resistant - Fantastic camera - Long battery life - Improved edge functionality - Fingerprint sensor

- Weak; tinny speaker - Glass is still a fingerprint magnet - Software has a lot of redundancies

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

The S7 is a fine upgrade. Samsung has taken some of the more dearly missed features from the Galaxy S5 and integrated them into the Galaxy S7 while boosting the specs to the latest Qualcomm SoC.

The curved sides on the back make the device a little more comfortable to hold; The S7 brings back all the advantages of water resistance with none of the negatives present in the S5; The default app designs aren't bad; but if you don't like them; a trip to the theme store can change things up; Gear...

Glass is still fragile; We'd prefer metal on the back, SD cards are better than ever with Android 6.0's adoptable storage, but Samsung killed the feature, No always-on "OK Google" support.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Expert Review

The phones look and feel fantastic, and that wasn't something we could truthfully say about a Samsung phone 18 months ago. It also seems Samsung have listened to some of the criticisms levelled at the S6 , and done their best to resolve them.

Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE review

How do you define perfection? When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge , we were stunned. At first, because it looked so much like their 2015 flagship devices, but later because of how amazing these devices were as smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is the best phone in the market right now, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved. It's more refined than the S6 Edge and leaves very little to complain about.

Most powerful smartphone in India right now; Big display; but small dimensions; Good; fast camera; Waterproof

Edge display still lacks apps and functionality; Touchwiz needs to be lighter

Time-saver edition

The Galaxy S7 edge is the better S7, one may think. That's certainly true if looks are a top priority, but also for more practical reasons - the S7 edge has quite a bit longer battery life.

Stunning to look at; exquisite build; Wonderful 5.5-inch dual-curved AMOLED display; Powerful hardware; benchmark topper; Impressive camera output both stills and video; Excellent battery life; fast charging; both wired and wireless

Awkward handling; Glass accumulates fingerprints; fragile; Non-removable battery; no IR blaster

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Review: Finally the real deal

It's only logical for us to tell you that this is the best Galaxy ever, and we'd be right if we just left it in that simple conclusion. That wouldn't be doing this phone any justice though.

Great build quality with refined ergonomics; Powerful internals that deliver; Taller design at similar weight to the Galaxy S7; Outstanding camera with low light improvements; A matured "edge" UI; Game Launcher; Awesome battery life; The return of IP68 water resistance and expandable storage

Fingerprint magnet; Slippery construction; Edge display can be triggered by accident; Lags in USB Type-C adoption

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge in-depth review - All about that edge

All the niggles from the S6 edge have been ironed out and the S7 edge is now bigger- with more space to show off that seamlessly beautiful curved screen along side the waterproofing and expandable memory. Samsung have made sure this phone oozes kerb appeal and sophistication

Gorgeous display; Fantastic specs; Wow factor; Epitome of premium

Size maybe too big for some

Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE review

Last year Samsung surprised the world by completely revolutionizing their flagship Galaxy S line. This wasn’t just a revolution in materials used, moving from the plastic parts of old to a brand new all metal and glass build, but also launching what Samsung calls an Edge variant as well.
