Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (Verizon Wireless)

Don't be fooled by Samsung's functionality pitch-the edge design doesn't add anything to the experience. That said, while the Galaxy S6 is a handsome phone, the S6 Edge is the real stunner, and it's still every bit as impressive as its flat counterpart.

Standout design; Premium materials; Excellent performance

Expensive; Edge design doesn't bring useful functions

About a year ago, we were in a similar spot. We had the , rand were comparing it to rivals from LG, Motorola, Apple, and Sony (just to name a few). Twelve months have passed, and as fate would have it, we've got yet another pair of Galaxy phones in the labs.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Review: In Good Shape

The Galaxy S6 Edge takes everything great about the excellent Galaxy S6 and puts it in a more elegant--and more expensive--package. Here's our review.

Gorgeous design; Spectacular QHD display; Exceptionally fast performance; One of the best cameras on the market

No water or dust resistance; Battery life is average for this class; Front-facing camera is too; Curved screen has little practical value

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Review: Killer Curves

While pricey, the Galaxy S6 Edge sports a sexier design than the iPhone 6 along with awesome front and back cameras, a stunning display and friendlier software. Stunningly sexy design; Fast camera that excels in low light; Speedy overall performance; Best display on a smartphone; Improved audio

Edge display doesn't do enough; Shorter battery life than Galaxy S5

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge - AT&T

S6 Edge+ and the Note 5, Samsung's Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge still deliver the kind of excellent performance its users enjoy, making this pick one of the best smartphones available.

Samsung has lead the Android market with its Galaxy S line of mobile phones for a number of years now, producing one of – if not the – top-selling mobile handsets on the market. The company has achieved mass-market appeal by providing consistently leading-edge specifications, even if the components...

Cheap plastic is gone; replaced with classy glass and metal; Built-in Qi charging! Rejoice; Fantastic camera - better than previous models; and better than most of the competition; Fingerprint sensor is much; much easier to use and it's significantly more accurate; TouchWiz has been toned down even...

Battery life is okay, but not great; There are ways to deal with it, though, Significant slowdown and stutter over time until the phone becomes virtually useless until you reboot it, Data connectivity stalls quite frequently, No IP rating – unlike the S5, this isn't waterproof or dustproof

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge - The Empire Strikes Back

When it comes to smartphones, Apple's biggest advantage is its impeccable sense of design and usability. Love it or hate, Apple knows how to make a desirable device. With the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung might have just taken that advantage away.

Slick and sophisticated design; Fantastic camera; Beautiful screen

Curved display is mostly aesthetic; Charging over anything but Samsung's official charger is slow; TouchWiz still needs a bit more work

The Galaxy S6 is easily Samsung’s best smartphone yet. It’s the first device I’ve used from Samsung in a long time that feels polished to a sufficient standard, both from a hardware and software perspective, which makes it easy to recommend as a flagship Android handset.

Samsung finally delivers on design; Chart-topping performance without the throttling concerns; Superb camera in nearly all situations; TouchWiz is more attractive and less cluttered than before; Excellent display, and decent battery life; Design is even more attractive than the standard Galaxy S6.

MicroSD card slot omission means expensive storage upgrades; Slippery body attracts fingerprints; Getting the Edge will cost you a premium; No useful software additions, or anything that makes compelling use of the curved display; Less ergonomic design than the regular S6.

If the "Next big thing" ads weren't clearer, Samsung has always wanted its Galaxy S to be an iPhone. Premium, desirable and something people aspire to buy. The Galaxy S series was aspirational indeed, and was often ahead of the iPhone in many departments, except for the ones related to "premium".

If we count the most anticipated Samsung Galaxy S phones till date, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge would be the one, no doubt. But there's nothing hyped about it. The phone has been built from scratch, says Samsung, its one-of a kind design inspiring to keep everything new to the device.

One of a kind design; Ultra slim, light and ergonomic; Android L refreshed TouchWiz interface; Blazing fast camera; fingerprint unlock

Avaerage battery backup; No expandable storage; Heats up
