Samsung Galaxy S5 review: Improved phone still a step behind other Android models

With the Galaxy S5, Samsung has pulled back the reins. The phone maker shifted its focus to refining the features that were already present in predecessors like the Galaxy S4 rather than stuffing more into an increasingly wider polymer body.

Surprisingly good service!

Despite having 100+ terrible reviews claiming DWI to be scammers, the large quantity of positive responses gave me some hope. I purchased this through a direct deposit which was processed within two business days and received an email of its shipment soon after.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Review

The Samsung Galaxy S5 does a lot of things well. Its Super AMOLED display offers stunning visuals, while its Snapdragon 801 CPU delivers strong performance. Features such as S Health continue to grow, becoming more useful, despite a gimmicky heartbeat monitor.

Vivid; gorgeous display Water-resistant chassis Sharp camera with compelling features Long battery life

Inconsistent fingerprint sensor Annoying port cover Weak audio

So, I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 . I didn't intend to buy it, but I saw it in the store yesterday and a couple of things lured me in. I'm also becoming a bit bored with my Nexus 5 , which didn't help.

The Samsung Galaxy S5, successor to the S4, sold 11 million units within the first month of its global release, that's 1 million more than the S4 in the same period. So obviously they are doing something right, which I think marketing plays a huge part.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone offers many features and, on paper, looks like one of the top smartphones. But does it live up to the hype? By Regardt van der Berg. In recent years, Samsung has become a formidable competitor in the smartphone space.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Smartphone

Will the gravity well from Galaxy S5 capture your interest, or will you streak past with escape velocity? Samsung's Galaxy S line of smartphones employs cutting-edge hardware and more features than any human can remember to use, making it one of the most anticipated flagship phones every year.

Great hardware; fingerprint scanner; IP67

Ugly; screen has issues with color accuracy and grayscale banding; poor NAND performance

Samsung Galaxy S5 Review

The Galaxy S5 is definitely bigger, faster and meaner than any of its predecessors. Samsung has refined its custom UI to make look remotely different from Android and they've done it pretty well. The loads of features and functions are a mixed bag of both gimmicky and practical use.

* Powerful hardware; * Impressive display quality; * Great camera quality & performance; * Fingerprint scanner; * Water and dust resistance; * Kitkat out of the box; * Long battery life

* Quite expensive; * Same old; boring design

It may be a little cliché by now but we will say it anyway, another year, another Samsung GALAXY S device and to many of you out there, that's not a bad thing as this is easily one of the most anticipated smartphones and for good reasons.

High-end performance; IP67 certified; Stunning display; Excellent camera experience

Design is nothing new; Plastic build; Finicky fingerprint sensor
