Samsung Galaxy S21 ULTRA (512GB) 5G Phantom Black SM-G998BZKHXNZ review

Samsung's Galaxy S21 Ultra is a powerhouse smartphone, but can it fix the legacy burdened by its predecessor?...

Big; bright; 120Hz display Great battery life Versatile camera system Super-fast processor

Expensive No expandable storage No charger in the box

Samsung Galaxy S21 ULTRA (512GB) 5G Phantom Black SM-G998BZKHXNZ review

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is definitely one of the most expensive non-foldable flagships on the market. It is €100 cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and €50 cheaper than the iPhone 12 Pro Max when those were released.

Daring ; bold design; AMOLED WQHD+ 120 Hz screen is sublime; Improved Exynos 2100 chipset; Versatile camera module; Fantastic 10x zoom; Great battery life and performance; Fluid OneUI 3.1 interface is feature-rich

Exynos 2100 does not outperform the Snapdragon 888 SoC; No charger included; No microSD slot; 25-watt fast charging only; S-Pen is nearly redundant; Expensive (although cheaper than the S20 Ultra)

Samsung Galaxy S21 ULTRA (512GB) 5G Phantom Black SM-G998BZKHXNZ review

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is a no-holds-barred uber-flagship with sizeable proportions and a high price, but for your money, you get the most uncompromisingly capable smartphone on the market right now

Best camera phone to date; Excellent performance; Lighter than expected; Great battery life; Beautiful display

No charger may irk some; Loss of microSD slot; It's big; Price

Samsung Galaxy S21 ULTRA (512GB) 5G Phantom Black SM-G998BZKHXNZ review

The redesign, though relatively minor, has a major impact by making the Galaxy S21 Ultra stand out again. The gorgeous adaptive 120Hz WQHD+ display and useful extras like S Pen support make the Galaxy S21 Ultra a joy to use.

Excellent performance, Large and vivid 120Hz adaptive display, Versatile and impressive cameras, Reliable software updates, S Pen support

Slightly disappointing battery life, No charger in the box

Samsung Galaxy S21 ULTRA 5G Phantom Black SM-G998BZKGXNZ review

Samsung are one of the most popular brands of AndroidSmartphones. As with most recent Smartphones the main advances are made with the cameras and for that reason you could say this is a camera phone as a lot of people no longer bother to carry a camera day to day.

Samsung Galaxy S21 ULTRA (512GB) 5G Phantom Black SM-G998BZKHXNZ review

Check out Samsung's Galaxy S21 Ultra flagship specs, performance, camera and battery life review, what's in two zooms?

The longest; cleanest zoom on a phone; and most versatile camera set; The best battery life in its class; Brightest display with the most granular adaptive refresh rate; Stylish Contour Cut design and richer variety of colors; Unique 12-bit color RAW capture at 108MP; S Pen stylus support; Next-gen...

Still big and bulky to carry and use; especially with an S Pen case on; $1200 gets you just 128GB; no charger; earbuds; or memory card slot; The new ultrasonic finger scanner is still comparatively slow; Softness in the main camera sample edges

The best WQHD 120Hz panel that money can buy; Excellent cameras; Great performance with Exynos 2100; Good battery life; IP68 dust and water resistance; Brilliant design

No microSD card slot; No 3.5mm audio jack; Expensive

Samsung Galaxy S21 ULTRA (512GB) 5G Phantom Black SM-G998BZKHXNZ review

Samsung shifted its annual Galaxy S series launch about a month to the left this year, and given the challenges we all faced in 2020, it is nice to see 2021 start off with some fresh phones from Samsung with a significant price drop.

Lovely design with matte finish back; 5G support for all bands; Advanced multiple cameras; S Pen support; Competive pricing; High end internal specifications

No MST support

Samsung Galaxy S21 ULTRA (512GB) 5G Phantom Black SM-G998BZKHXNZ review

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the phone that the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra should of been. Last year's phone was a massively powerful handset that, in some areas, was coarse around the edges – and as such fell from grace in terms of receiving a perfect score.

Stunning 6.8-inch 120Hz WQHD+ screen; Powerful flagship-grade hardware spec; Feature packed camera system; S Pen Digital Stylus support; Large; long-lasting 5,000mAh battery; 5G network compatible

Expensive; despite a price drop; Doesn't come with S Pen Digital Stylus

Samsung Galaxy S21 ULTRA (512GB) 5G Phantom Black SM-G998BZKHXNZ review

The S21 Ultra is a good phone for those who want an Android flagship that does everything and does everything better than everyone else. It is also a phone for those who need a camera that can capture those great selfies as well as the tiger in the bush during a Ranthambore safari.
