Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review

The new Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is the fourth phone in the S line this year. That’s a lot of variants, and it doesn’t include the two Note 20 phones and seemingly innumerable A-series phones Samsung also released this year.

Reasonable price, 120Hz screen, Good cameras

Samsung’s photo tuning is unnecessarily aggressive, Fingerprint sensor a tick too slow, Samsung’s software regressing to a messy norm

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review

I would recommend this smartphone to anyone who wants a high-end device but doesn’t want to spend a lot of money since the device is $949 outright. $

Long-lasting battery, 120Hz refresh rate, S20-like photos

All right display, Plastic rear, No headphone jack

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review

When the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G was announced, I have to admit I was confused. I wasn’t sure what this device was all about and where it fits into the already crowded Samsung mobile space.

Very nice design, I like that the screen isn't curved and the display is flat, Nice build quality even with glastic, Good software experience, Good performance, Very good camera for this price range, Great battery life, Outstanding value for feature set

Speakers aren't great, Camera's low light performance isn't the best

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is close to being the perfect combination of specifications and price.

Really nice screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, good build quality and matte back, good all-round camera, high performance and generally you get alot for your money.

The screen resolution is not as high as on the other models in the Galaxy S20 series. Comes with only 15 watt charger in the box, although 25 watt charging is supported.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is a smartphone that will end up pleasing most people. The phone has a lot going for it — reliable performance, bright and vibrant display and good camera performance. It faces competition from the series but is capable enough to stand its ground.

Elegant design, Bright display, Smooth performance

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review

Currently, Samsung just offers the Exynos 990, LTE variant here in the Philippines which is priced at PHP 35,990. If you want the 5G version, you’ll have to source the Snapdragon variant, which is not easy to get since Samsung is yet to offer it here.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G isn’t a cheap phone, costing $699 / £699 (or £599 for the 4G version, available in the UK). However, it’s still a great value option for anyone who wants all the power of the Galaxy S20 without its sky-high price.

Great cameras for the price, Fast performance, Fantastic display

Plastic feel, Samsung’s UI is heavy, Doesn’t ship with fast charger

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review

With the fan edition of the Galaxy S20 Samsung lands a genuine hit. With the Galaxy S20 FE 5G buyers get a very bright super AMOLED display inclusive 120-Hz refresh rate, a very good triple camera with 3x optical zoom and a long running 4500-mAh battery.

water- and dustproof according to IP68, 5G & NFC, Dual-SIM, very good triple camera, 3x optical zoom, very bright AMOLED display, 120 Hz, very fast SoC, long battery life

Plastic instead of glass back, no headphone jack, Hybrid SIM slot, Throttling under load

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review

By trimming the fat from its highest-end Galaxy handset, Samsung inadvertently made one of the best Android phones of 2020.

Competitive price. Large display with a buttery smooth 120-Hz refresh rate. Day-long battery life. Versatile cameras. Speedy performance. Support for 5G. Wireless charging. Water resistance. The plastic back means one less area to shatter after a drop.

The fingerprint sensor is unreliable. The cameras over-saturate and aren't quite as good as the Pixel 5's.
