Samsung Galaxy S10 5G review: the most ambitious 5G effort money can buy

Despite what its unimaginative name suggests, the Galaxy S10 5G is not just a Galaxy S10 with support for faster 5G networks slapped on. It's actually an entirely-new flagship with a number of never-before-seen features.

Lavish AMOLED display; Stunning bokeh effect in Live Focus pictures and videos; Water resistant design; Future-proofed with 5G Support; 3.5mm headphone port means a dongle-free life

It's massively unwieldy; Camera cut-out in the display is ugly

Samsung Galaxy S10: Why I Bought It

A lot of the features I described above are unique to Samsung Galaxy smartphones, giving me strong reasons to finally return to my "roots", embracing the brand of the very first Android smartphone I got 8 years ago.

Samsung Galaxy S10

The Galaxy S10 is Samsung's middle child flagship phone, caught between the larger, more lavishly appointed Galaxy S10 Plus and the smaller, pluckier Galaxy S10E ( $579 at Amazon ) , which is also the best value of all three Galaxy S10 phones . The S10's price feels the squeeze, too.

Like all of Samsung's Galaxy S10 phones, the standard S10 is built from the best parts, has a wonderfully sharp screen and long battery life; Camera quality is great, and it comes with all the extras, like the ability to wirelessly charge another device

As with the Galaxy S10 Plus; the S10's in-screen fingerprint reader is hit or miss; and its camera lacks a standalone night mode that other rivals have

Samsung Galaxy S10 Smartphone Review

great design; premium feel; powerful SoC; plenty of RAM and internal storage; microSD card support; dual-SIM functionality for DUOS model; good cameras; decent OLED panel; water resistant and dustproof; USB 3.1 with DP; HDMI and OTG support; good stereo speakers; great fingerprint sensor; wireless...

underwhelming battery life; no eSIM; insecure and disappointing facial recognition technology; SoC throttles under continuous load; PWM; no aptX HD support

Samsung Galaxy S10 Review: We have a new king

The Samsung Galaxy S10 doesn't fold, it doesn't have 5G – not quite yet, anyway – and it looks a whole lot like the Galaxy S9 from last year, but none of that precludes it from being the smartphone to beat in 2019.

Incredible screen escapes the notch curse; Flexible cameras produce great results in most conditions; Snapdragon 855 and One UI performance is swift; Excellent battery life

Low-light photos aren't as good as Pixel 3's; Expensive; In-display fingerprint sensor a little slow sometimes

Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e Review: Predictably impressive

A shared Galaxy

Infinity-O hole punch is great; In-display fingerprint sensor is impressive; Most significant design change to the Galaxy series in years

Expensive outright pricing; Curved edges still result in accidental touches; Low-light performance lags behind the Pixel 3

Samsung Galaxy S10 pre-orders may come with a free pair of Galaxy Buds

Samsung continues to make excellent Android phones. With the Galaxy S10, the Korean brand doesn't stray too far from the model it has established over the past few years. This is a high-end device that features just about every feature you could ask for: three rear cameras, a high-res OLED display,...

Smaller than lots of other flagships; without sacrificing features; Versatile camera that reliably takes excellent pictures; A lovely screen that's fantastic for video

One UI is full of bloatware; Battery life is middling

Samsung Galaxy S10 review: Not to be overlooked

With so much noise coming from other areas, it's almost too easy to overlook Samsung. The Galaxy S10 adds to the company's great previous offerings, without being a huge step forward for the brand.

Great build quality; One UI software features; Camera consistency and HDR performance

Battery life isn't the best; Night shooting doesn't keep up with rivals

Samsung unveiled three new Galaxy S10 series models at an event in San Francisco on Wednesday - the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e. Samsung's latest flagship offerings are packed to the gills with features in the hope of giving sales at the top-end of the market a boost after the...
