Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (256GB, Gold) - Pristine review

First! Samsung announced the Galaxy S10 5G at MWC 19, but it has taken a while to arrive in Europe. It is bigger, has more cameras and has a larger battery than its S10 siblings, but there are some trade-offs too.

great design, premium materials, impressive cameras, super bright AMOLED display, IP68 certification, 3D face recognition, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, reversible wireless charging, ultra-fast wired charging, headphone jack, powerful SoC

frame rate stutters in demanding games, SoC throttles under continuous load, PWM, no aptX HD, no microSD card slot, tinny-sounding speakers, underwhelming battery life, only single-SIM, carrier branding, bloatware

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (256GB, Gold) - Pristine review

While the Samsung Galaxy S10 doesn't excel in any one specific area, the collective package makes for an incredibly capable offering – which I'm sure was Samsung's aim in the first place. It sports a stunning OLED screen, versatile camera and a number of enticing new features. It's a great phone.

Smaller than lots of other flagships, without sacrificing features, Versatile camera that reliably takes excellent pictures, A lovely screen that’s fantastic for video

One UI is full of bloatware, Battery life is middling

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (256GB, Gold) - Pristine review

The Galaxy S10 is a very good phone, sacrificing only screen size, dual front facing cameras and battery life compared to the S10 Plus. The regular S10 is a more comfortable size phone at a better price and has the same great triple rear cameras.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (256GB, Gold) - Pristine review

Still, the Samsung Galaxy S10 is clearly one of the best phones you can buy, especially if you don’t want to spend silly money. It costs a lot, but not as much as its larger sibling or the

Best screen around, Brilliant new design, Great triple-lens camera

Average battery life, High price, Shown up slightly by S10 Plus

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (256GB, Gold) - Pristine review

The Galaxy S10 came with rumors of many cameras and different model types. After a few weeks of use, these are my thoughts on the Galaxy S10.

Great looking screen. Good for media consumption, Large screen in small body. Good for one-handed use, Still has a headphone jack, and wireless charging capability.

Fingerprint scanner doesn't always work., Low light shots look muddy at times.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (256GB, Gold) - Pristine review

The Samsung Galaxy S10 doesn’t fold, it doesn’t have 5G – not quite yet, anyway – and it looks a whole lot like the Galaxy S9 from last year, but none of that precludes it from being the smartphone to beat in 2019.

Incredible screen escapes the notch curse, Flexible cameras produce great results in most conditions, Snapdragon 855 and One UI performance is swift, Excellent battery life

Low-light photos aren't as good as Pixel 3's, Expensive, In-display fingerprint sensor a little slow sometimes

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G review

The best-looking screen we’ve ever seen joins forces with a stellar camera and very fast mobile internet. It isn’t a flawless victory; the S10 5G gets hot under the collar, and its battery won’t last for more than a day. With everything else it can do, though, it’s still easy to recommend if you desperately need 5G data speeds or just like to be on the cutting edge of tech. If you don’t, the Galaxy S10+ is a fine alternative.

Stunning screen; Premium design; Futureproofed with 5G;

It gets hot with intense use; Will be too big for some; The battery could be better;

Best phone of all time

I have had this phone for 4 weeks, the speakers are good enough to listen to reasonable quality music everywhere you go, the camera is next level and actually helps you take the "Best Shot". I had a small problem with the samsung messaging app not getting allerts, just deleted it and downloaded the google message app, joys of android. I havnt been able to find anything decent with the TOF camera, still by far the best phone though.

Literally the best phone out

When I got my Galaxy S10 5G I immediately noticed that it felt lighter than you'd expect from such a large phone. The screen is awesome, the value you get for what you pay is great. My only downside is I sometimes feel like the phone feels very fragile. I am yet to drop it or have any chips, scratches or damage done, however with almost all phones made in 2019 consisting of the "glass sandwich" design, it is not something that should startle or put someone off. I do wish they made the sides out of a more durable metal, such as stainless steel as aluminium is (and for the most part always will be) more brittle.

S10 5G Best in its Class

Purchased April 2020. The 512G varient gives you large storage space. 6.7in OMELED screen crystal clear. 4.500mAh battery runs well. 16 & 12MP cameras are amazing great colour depth & resolution. This device packs a lot of power in providing the user with almost everything one needs in a phone. Sold separately & must have accessories are the Galaxy Buds & Smart watch. For the S10 5G get the elegant cradle fast charger. Now all you need is wider 5G Network Coverage & its all systems go. Its worth the hefty slug to the bank account price tag, in the long run your way out infront of current phone technology.
