Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950F 64GB

The new 6.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Note8 resembles the S8 Plus phone and the processor and many other specs are the same. Note 8 does contain some new features like the 12 MP dual camera and the more sophisticated pen.

The dual rear cameras contain a wide-angle lens and a tele lens. This combination yields ten times better digital zoom and twice the optical zoom. Both cameras support optical image stabilisation, which results in crisper photos. The performance under low-light conditions is especially noticeable. The dual cameras enable the Live focus feature, whereby it's possible to zoom in on an objected located close while the background remains blurry. This feature makes Note 8's cameras behave like a system digital camera.

One of the main selling points of the phone is its productivity-enhancing capabilities. The pen plays an imperative role and extends the functionality of Note 8 beyond notes taking and drawing. It's possible to take notes in screen-lock mode thanks to the Always on display also found on Galaxy S8. A click on the pin icon positioned in the lower right corner of the screen gives instant access to a maximum of 100 notes. Hence, it's easy to check items on the shopping list while shopping in-store.

The Note 8 phone sports 6 GB of RAM memory, 64 GB of storage and comes with dual sim slots. It's powered by Samsung's own Exynos 8895 processor. The battery has a capacity of 3,300 mAH and the phone is waterproof with an IP68 rating.

I've had the phone for a couple of weeks. The inbuilt app for the transfer of data and photos from my old phone to my Note 8 was very easy and complete. the note facility before opening the phone is awesome andextremely useful.

Both beauty and the beast, the gorgeous Note 8 has an extraordinary feature set and magnificent performance. It's expensive, but can you really afford not to consider it? Find out what we made of Samsung's brand-new flagship, which is now on sale.

Ideal

I bought this device a few weeks ago and I'm very happy with it considering what I use it for. I was also happy with the service and advice Tesco provided me with given past issues with another seller.

Not what I had hoped for

I bought this because I wanted a bigger screen. I would have preferred wider not longer. I guess I'll have to go back to the competitor to get my ideal screen. The bixby button in a pain and useless to me. This is the first Samsung I did not like and now I'm stuck with it for 2 years,yay!

Realistic color; nice camera

Did not meet expectations; screen to long and not wide enough

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 review

As ever, the greatest shortcoming of Samsung’s Galaxy Note series is that these phones aren’t for everyone. Some people will want a smaller handset. Some will want one that doesn’t require them to remortgage the house. Others are going to take one look one look at this behemoth and cough up the necessary dosh on the spot. In smartphone terms the Note 8 does everything. Its dual lens camera takes a great photo even when zoomed in, its huge 6.3in screen is an awesome surface to work across and relax with, and that S Pen remains a smart accompaniment to ridiculously powerful package. Only some hit and miss facial recognition holds this phone back from being a perfect all-rounder. So would I buy a Note 8? No. It’s a bit too big for me too comfortably hold, and I’m not going to use its stylus in the long run. Still, you can’t help hold this phone and be impressed by just how much it’s capable of. For anyone in need of a super phone, there is no better alternative.

Gorgeous, big screen; Awesome camera; Power to spare;

Awkward to hold one-handed; Facial recognition is hit and miss;

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 review: the phablet you've always wanted

Samsung is back with a new phone in the Galaxy Note series! Many feared that the inglorious history of the Galaxy Note 7 may have been the end of the series, but the reality is far from it. With the Galaxy Note 8, Samsung is seeking to go back to its old strengths in the market of XXL smartphones.
