Great at what it does

Definately a good a good choice for those who want to keep on the go with fitness and technology and offers on screen realtime data and touch interface. The Fit is to be expected to be a fitness band first, as the screen size and shape only allow for the extra "smartwatch" side of things as a bit of...

allows you to track all your activities directly; easy to use; great battery.

3 apps required to make the most of it; doesn't offer in app coaching or goals

Samsung launched the Gear Fit along with the Gear 2 Smartwatch. The Gear Fit is another wearable device designed for style, comfort and can keep a log of your fitness activities. Gear Fit – as the name suggest is for fitness conscious users.

Samsung Gear Fit

The Gear Fit might just be the first piece of wearable technology we actually looked forward to putting on. Ever since getting our first look at the device at the Samsung Galaxy S5 launch event, we couldn't wait to see if there was a smart watch success behind that beautiful screen.

Samsung Gear Fit review

Combining fitness band and smartwatch, the Gear Fit is beautifully designed. It just lacks a bit of substance right now.

Beautiful AMOLED screen, Good fitness/smartwatch balance, The Fit is a gorgeous piece of tech, possibly the best-looking out there right now; It's also packed with a good balance of fitness and smartwatch features, and given more attention, Samsung could have a winning wearable on its hands.

Limited fitness features; Accuracy problems; Extra charging component; Most of the problems arise from limitations in the software: the inability to upload data to third party platforms; the lack of a pause feature; the lack of GPS tracking for running.

Samsung Gear Fit raises the bar on fitness trackers with its dual utility. It's not just a fitness band. Though not as capable for a Smartwatch as other Gear watches, Gear Fit does half the job of showing all the notifications on its curved screen that you can wear more comfortably during workouts.

Water resistant; Fitness friendly design; Swappable strap

50% of a Smartwatch; Pricey and only for Samsung phones

Samsung Gear Fit review

The Gear Fit is Samsung's answer to the activity tracker revolution. It's arrived as a Galaxy mobile-only accessory – rather than compatible with any old Android phone – alongside the other Samsung Gear smartwatches .

Phone notifications; Good looks; Curved AMOLED display; Lots of accessories

Poor sleep tracking; Accuracy issues; Limited analytics; Fiddly charging component

Samsung Gear Fit Review

What do you expect of the best activity trackers on the market today? Innovation and tough competition among these modern day pedometers have certainly raised the bar. Some devices can read your heart rate all day and night, while others vibrate to wake you from a precisely timed power nap. Brand-spanking new to the fitness tracker category is the Samsung Gear Fit ($199), a wristband that's so sophisticated looking, with a brilliant touch screen, it may raise your expectations—without warrant, though. Part smartwatch and part fitness tracker, the Gear Fit is best thought of as an accessory to one of the 18 Samsung devices with which it's compatible, including the Samsung Galaxy S5, and not as an independent activity monitor. But even as a smartphone companion, it only does a decent job as a fitness tracker, with key features disabled by default and an app that's already screaming for an overhaul. The smartwatch features are better, but not by enough to edge out our Editors' Choice...

The gorgeous Samsung Gear Fit is part fitness tracker and part smartwatch, but it's mainly an accessory for recent Samsung devices; if you want either an activity tracker or a smartwatch specifically, you can do better.

Part smartwatch, part fitness tracker; Supports bicycling; Records sleep; Smartwatch notifications are well implemented; Touch-screen enabled; Very, very pretty

Not functionally independent; requires a supported Samsung device; Pedometer not enabled by default; Touch screen too sensitive to use while in motion; Requires two apps to use fully; Short battery life

Samsung Gear Fit review: Curved-screen fitness smartwatch one step short

Somewhere in my first few days of using the Gear Fit, I stared at the band on my wrist. Curved display, eye-popping colors. A notification was on my wrist: someone liked my last tweet. My sister posted new photos on Facebook. I pressed the heart rate monitor button, and noticed my heart was beating a little faster than it should.

The Samsung Gear Fit is a great-looking wearable, but doesn't successfully reconcile its dual roles as activity tracker and smartwatch.

The Gear Fit has a forward-looking design, many more extras than the average fitness band, and the ability to measure heart rate; Its curved AMOLED display looks fantastic, too.

The long display means text reads awkwardly on your wrist; The Fit only works with certain Samsung phones; Can’t load apps, so you’re stuck with the features included; And the price is high, so much so that you might consider a cheaper alternative or the same-priced, more full-featured Gear Neo.

Wouldn't not recommend this and hoping ATT takes it back

The features are the reason I bought this, I can call my phone when I lose it, read my texts as they come in and play music. The main reason I bought it was for the pedometer which does not work right. Put the watch on as soon about I bought it from ATT drove home it caluculated 374 steps.
