In this conclusion to our Samsung Galaxy Fold review we answer the most burning question: Is this phone worth $1,980?...
After the Samsung Galaxy Fold disaster in April, I wrote off the device as a possible purchase, with the intent to wait until the next generation of foldable phones. Who was I kidding?
Extremely high quality product, Substantial stainless steel spine with innovative hinge mechanism, Massive 7.3 inch gorgeous OLED folding display, Functional one-hand optimized outer display, Powerful 3-in-1 mobile computing device, Battery capacity lasts more than a day, Multi-tasking powerhouse
Center fold area on display is clearly visible, No dust or water resistant rating, Careful use required on the plastic display, Expensive
innovative design with a foldable display, Wi-Fi 6, 5G, plenty of storage and RAM, fast SoC, good cameras, long battery life
vulnerable display, small exterior panel, only single SIM, no expandable memory
The Galaxy Fold is now available in the U.S, shortly after selling out in Korea during its initial debut. It brings a new smartphone experience centered on what Samsung calls "a new dawn in display technology." The company pitches the Fold as being "phone and tablet" in one device.
Next-generation visual comfort; Highly innovative product; Excellent camera
Larger screen reduces battery life; A bit heavy; Expensive
The Fold is innately compelling, truly innovative and impossibly expensive.
Versatile and unique form-factor; Great specs and performance; Makes you think about how you use your phone
Ridiculously expensive; Inconsistent app continuity; Limited durability
When it comes to smartphones, Samsung has a tenacity like no other brand can even attempt. Back in 2012, the South Korean tech giant introduced the Galaxy Note which was a first of its kind. This handset was ginormous for its time even though it packed a mere 5.3-inch display.
Samsung Galaxy Fold Review: This is a phone to flaunt because this is not a phone that is solving a problem that users have been bother...
Had this phone since it first came out and love it. Does everything plus more. Phone camera is great and battery life is good as well.
Given all the bad press from its false start earlier this year, the enthusiasm for the first mainstream foldable phone to hit the market had certainly dimmed a little. Perhaps that's why I now find the Galaxy Fold a surprisingly handy phone on the go.
The Galaxy Fold delivers a ‘wow' factor that no other phone offers today, and yet we'd only recommend it to early adopters with a penchant for impressing their peers, and who have money to burn.
Supremely cool form factor; Gaming taken to the next level; Samsung's biggest battery
Outrageously expensive; Vulnerable plastic screen
