Samsung Galaxy A3 review

Following the sleek, high-priced Galaxy Alpha , Samsung offers a brace of similar, but considerably cheaper handsets with the Galaxy A3 and A5. The A3 costs less than half the price, but do the compromises made on the make it still too expensive?

Stylish and slim design; decent quad-core processor; 5-megapixel camera on front; expandable memory

Screen not HD&nbsp

Samsung Galaxy A3

The Samsung Galaxy A3 is a handset for those after a compact phone, one on an affordable contract, or a device that can be bought SIM-free without anxiety-inducing cost. Compare the price against the specs featured, however, and the A3 doesn't offer the greatest deal around.

Water resistant; Looks great; Good battery life for video

A little expensive; Low-res screen

Samsung Galaxy A3 review (2017)

Overall, the A3's improvements for 2017 are pretty significant and make this nice-size, reasonably priced phone even more appealing for those who like the idea of the Galaxy S7 but can't quite stretch their budget that far. Its waterproofing and fingerprint sensor are both convenient and practical, and the good-looking design makes it easy to forget that this phone has a price tag that's half that of many flagship phones. That said, there are alternatives if you're willing to look to other brands, and you might be surprised to find that you'll get more for your money. We'd recommend checking out the Moto G5 and Nokia's new offerings before you buy the Samsung Galaxy A3 to see whether they appeal to your wallet a bit more.

Samsung Galaxy A3

The Galaxy A3 from Samsung is a mid-range phone with a premium metal design. It's compact, ultraslim, and exceptionally light in weight, and is quite possibly the nicest-looking phone you can own in this price category.

Very good phone

It's a very good phone. Affordable but wit a good camera, enough space to save documents, pictures, music and other personal files. Nice screen, you can use it with two different SIM.

Giving birth to the A series has been a bold step from Samsung, influenced from its metal lined Note 4 and Alpha getting a high acceptance rate. Its becomes like the story of a wimpy kid that calls for help faking a tiger lurking around, when there is none-all for attention.

Light and strong; Stylish metal uni-body design; Smooth swift interface

Comparatively expensive; Noisy low light camera performance; Screen isn't HD; Optional Dual SIM/expandable storage capability; Doesn't support OTG

All of which leaves me in a difficult position when it comes to awarding the final score. With the Galaxy A3, Samsung has given us a diminutive smartphone with flagship looks and build quality, a super screen, a capable camera and battery life that goes on and on.
