Given the chance to play in a professional environment, I was quite impressed with the Samson C01U USB studio condenser microphone. As a desktop microphone, it is definitely overkill – like using a Peterbilt to go grocery shopping.

Samson markets the C01U as the first affordable studio-quality condenser microphone with a USB interface. The first thing you notice is the weight of the microphone. It has a heavy gauge mesh grill protecting the diaphragm and has a real meaty, solid feel.

This is an awesome microphone. Its ideal for vocalist, guitarists. I wish i could buy it. This provides good quality to vocals and guitars recording. Works perfect and it is in affordable range. But its price should be 50$ USD only. The company should decrease the price. So many will buy it.

I use for recording vocals & room percussion. The highs are crisp and the lows are solid, even at various gain levels. Great for the price. Comparable to MXL990.

Anyone that wants their voice to be clearly recorded should consider this mic. Quality is extremely acceptable for the price.

I have always had an interest in doing anything relating to radio however I have always been fairly amatuerish and used cheap $10-20 dollar microphones. In 2007, I decided that It was time to break into the bank a little bit and buy a more professional condensor mic.

I received this as a christmas gift, and instantly loved it. It is really big, and has an included stand in the box, along with a free version of the Cakewalk LE software, which includes many cool drum beat tracks etc.

Works wonderfully with adobe audition. I use this Mic for professional VO work and it sounds great. Very clean tone and easy to setup/use.

I bought this about a month ago for online lessons but it has also worked well for recording projects. Very good value and quality.
