Before I purchased the Roccat Lua, I had never had any experience with Roccat products. The Lua caught my eye in Best Buy for the sole reason that it was cheap and the choice of sensor interested me immensely.

Where did all the buttons go, and why's it so small? As gaming mice go, the Lua is the barest of the bare-bones, standing out only for its inexpensive price.
Handsome LED lighting; Has dpi-sensitivity adjustments; Mostly excellent software utility; Very low price
Exceedingly small; No additional buttons beyond the resolution switch; No way to adjust dpi in both directions; Limited ability to assign actions to buttons via Roccat software
When Bob told me I was going to review the Roccat Lua I was honestly excited. I saw the Lua during an E3 announcement and have been looking forward to get my hands on it ever since. Roccat has a recent history with ThinkComputers of having top notch products.
The Roccat Lua Tri-Button Gaming Mouse is a simple, stripped down mouse, presenting something of an oddity in a category where gamers can tweak everything from button height to weight and center of gravity, not to mention customizing any of 10 to 20 different macro buttons.
Ambidextrous design; Comfortable textured side-grips; Some customization with Roccat software.
Some may dislike the lower palmrest height
It's better than the average non-gaming mouse, but I'm not sure it deserves the title "gaming mouse"...then again it doesn't have the price of a gaming mouse either so that's a wash. Overall, I'm satisfied.
Works; Material feels fine; LED cat thing looks nice.
A bit small for adult male hands; but the dimensions are pretty close to what I have seen on most pre-assembled PCs so it's not really a big deal
Good value for money, however suited to smaller hand.

The Lua plays it cool, sticking to the basic three-button design (though it actually has four) and coming in at a much lower price than even other simple gaming mice, like the Razer Taipan($39.50 at Amazon) or the Steel Series Kinzu. Combine this affordability with a clean design and solid performance, and the Roccat Lua is our Editors' Choice for budget gaming mice. Design and Features The Lua has an ambidextrous design, making it a great choice for lefties, but it doesn't feel like an ambidextrous design; rather, it felt like it was made for whichever hand you favor. The curves of the Lua are such that it felt nearly as comfortable as the right-handed Roccat Savu, making it one of the more comfortable basic...

Ambidextrous design; Comfortable textured side-grips; Some customization with Roccat software; High quality optical sensor

I got this on sale with a mouse pad for $20, and it has been a great upgrade from run of the mill mouse. Driver is easy to follow and very easy to customize. LED has 3 functions, but no control over brightness, but it looks great. DPI adjustment is fantastic.
ROCCAT takes a step back in time to deliver us a classic design in this ambidextrous three-button mouse, the LUA.
I use this mouse for everything - although it's intended use is for FPS i do play world of warcraft with this mouse and it's perfect even with no macro buttons :D
