Tomb Raider
There's a moment about midway through the new Tomb Raider where heroine Lara Croft lands in the clutches of a gaggle of male heavies - gross, grimy, near-feral Scavengers who want nothing more than to exact revenge for her killing their brethren.
Pros:
- + Incredibly polished production values and super-responsive controls make playing a treat
- + Great
- well-paced progression and character development make Lara believable
Cons:
- ? Hey

After nearly two decades, Crystal Dynamics finally gets it right. Tomb Raider is an action-packed thrill ride full of amazing set-pieces, sharp writing, a fun science fiction story and tons of enemies to gun down. Tomb Raider is a game worthy of the Croft name!

The Short Version: Boasting a dynamic platforming playground that reveals itself slowly but surely, the entire Tomb Raider experience is built around the (re)birthing of an icon in terms of action-adventuring.

One of the best adventure games on console, with a fantastic blend of action and exploration. The Definitive Edition really is definitive, but isn't worth a repeat buy for those who've already experienced Lara's story.

- Wonderful
- varied setting
- An excellent sense of pacing
Cons:
- Side characters are dull stereotypes
- Has a slow start

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is the follow-up to the popular Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light released a few years ago. Temple of Osiris delivers the same blend of puzzle solving and combat wrapped in a co-op shell, but is a little easier and shorter than its predecessor.
Pros:
- Satisfying co-op locally and / or online
- solid gameplay
- interesting puzzles
Cons:
- So-so story
- bland combat
- too easy

Tomb Raider review: Killer reboot gets (almost) everything right
Violent, scary, ambitious, inventive: a lack of tombs and unconvincing characters can't mar a blockbuster return to form for Tomb Raider.
Pros:
- The island is the star of the show
- Lara's world feels brutal
- dangerous and frightening
- Smooth combat married to DIY gadgets
- Inventive tombs that recall the original game..
Cons:
- ..
- it's just a shame there's not enough of them, The occasional unwelcome QTE, Clichéd characters, flat dialogue

Tomb Raider review
Welcome back, Lara; the survivalist hero we always wanted you to be. Tomb Raider is a resounding success and one of the best reboots this generation. It starts off slow, but once it hits its stride, Tomb Raider evolves into an emotionally rich adrenaline-fuelled quest for survival.
Pros:
- + Great origins story
- + Lara is a strong protagonist
- + Engaging combat
- + Plenty of tombs to raid
Cons:
- - Supporting characters are bland
- - Slow start with too many quicktime events
- - Enemies are way too good at tossing dynamite behind cover

Tomb Raider Review
In 1998, my mother and I went to Cash Converters to look for PlayStation games my father might like for his birthday. She was ultimately convinced by a man with a disturbing glint in his eye that my Dad would appreciate the platformer stylings of the original Tomb Raider.
