Graphics are rather dated in places and the game play involves a great deal of running from one place to another. The combat is actually rather easy and there was only one difficult fight in the entire game (for me anyway).

If you've never heard of the myth behind the quest for the Golden Fleece, then you need to do some catching up on your mythology. Outside of Odysseus and Herakles (a.k.a Heracles), Jason, the famous leader of the Argonauts, is one of the most well-known Greek heroes.
Rise of the Argonauts can be quickly summarized as an RPG God of War . At least, that is the initial impression you would get. Here, we have a great Greek hero on a quest, receiving various powers from gods and leaving a path of destruction in his wake.
I can't really think of anything positive to say about this RPG based on Greek mythology. The graphics are poor, and glitchy. The characters are bland (notice how many of them look very very similar to each other), boring quests, very frustrating cut scenes and dialogue bits.
The graphic combat and rich storyline are let down by tiresome dialogue and endless and confusing travel. If you are a fan of the period and want to wallow in the mythology then this game has it by the bucket (amphora?) load, however game wise its lurching pace destroys its underlying potential.
In places the graphics can be quite stunning and the combat effects take cracking skulls and slice 'n' dicing to the extreme
Way to much talking and walking
You play the game as the the famous hero king jason you and your crew which can have such heros as Hercules, Achilles, Perseus and Atalanta must search for the magical golden fleece. The action-Rpg style means you'll be talking to greeks not just choping them up.
Lots of gore good combat
Too many lengthy conversions
Rise of the Argonauts is a great game. Really the only negative thing about it is that you stop to talk Alot. But this game has a fantastic storyline. This is a great game for everybody who likes mythology, or just wants a good game.
Rise of the Argonauts was fun to play but was not very hard. Some good things were the inteactable storyline where you can choose responses and ask questions, nice locations to play through and a battle system that is easily picked up and can string together some nice moves.
Graphics is not smooth at all and looks rather metallic. But I think it's kinda like the Story for God of War - Take a healthy dose of Greek Myths, make sure everybody in the same time period are together and blend properly... Drink in one gulp. Definitely for story driven players - like me
The combination of RPG with the action-genre isn't new but hasn't always delivered good games. Rise of the Argonauts tries to blend both genres again in the hopes of delivering a top title.
