Red Steel was disappointing and Perfect Dark Zero could only be described as underwhelming – even if our review hints we may have liked it at launch. It seems console launches and the FPS genre don't seem to want to meld together well this generation.

Normally launch titles are the biggest waste of space and end up being a waste of money. The storylines are weak, the graphics are average and they're just downright crap.

Touted as Playstation 3's killer app, or at the very least its best launch title, Resistance: Fall of Man has had huge pressure heaped upon it throughout development, but have Insomniac Games fulfilled everyone's great expectations?

Amongst the endless and pointless dialogue and cut scenes of many FPS games - this one tries to keep the FPS experience as pure as possible. It is a fun game and the graphics are very subdued but highly detailed. The trees are particularly beautiful and even more realistic than Crysis.

After buying my PS3 I wanted to settle down with a good game to see what it was all about, test the graphics and game play in comparison to the PS2. I can't remember who told me not to bother with this game and that was the reason it took me so long to buy it.

More Complex Missions

It took 3 generations but there is finally a decent First person shooter sony can call there own. The first thing you notice however with the game is the bleak visuals which don't reach the hights games like motorstorm and virtua fighter do which is a little disapointing but lets move on.

One of the first games to be released on the PS3 and the first game i bought for my console. Resistance fall of man is the story of the alien invader, the chrimera, and mans struggle to fight them off.

Good fun. The graphics aren't brilliant, but the gameplay makes up for it. After a couple of slow levels at the start, things pick up a lot and you have to take on some tough (if slightly repetitive) enemies with some quite cool weapons.
